When Yak answers, I tend to keep going because he knows his stuff. But here's what I'm seeing- Immigration can deny you entry if 1) you're not a US Citizen and 2) you have a criminal history.

If you have unpaid traffic tickets, it might seem petty for a judge to issue a warrant, but it *is* a criminal offense to sign the ticket (a "promise to appear") and then not show up for court- that's an offense in itself.

US Citizens always have the right to be admitted. Of course, Immigration or Customs will detain you until extradition is arranged if the US Citizen has a warrant. (And if some jurisdiction issues a warrant with no teeth, they get a slap on the wrist for putting it in the system, but that's a separate rant.)

Not showing up in court is an offense for which you may get a criminal history. If this history is in the national computer, a non-citizen could be refused admission.

If you're not a US citizen, yes.

And it's called outstanding warrants for arrest. Get a lawyer. Or pay your tickets and show for your court dates. There's not excuse for that.

Yes and no. It depends on what terms you are attempting to enter in and where the warrants are out of.

You can be denied for just about any reason. If you've got a bench warrant out for you it's unlikely they'll let you back in.
