Can I take a class?

I already gradutated college 3 years ago. Can I go back to take one more class without entering graduate school? I just need to take the class to get the hours for my current job.

Yes, you can. You'll be a non-degree student, and you will pay by the credit hour. You can't count these towards a degree, but you CAN use them to qualify for jobs or graduate programs in the future. You don't have to be accepted to the university to do this.

Sometimes it's cheaper to take the class on "audit" as opposed to "for credit" if that's an option that meets your employer's requirement. The advantage of audit is that you don't get a grade and aren't required to take exams.

Another option is to take the class graded pass/fail (an option at most colleges) and thereby remove the need to worry over performance in the class.

Some schools have a special provision for alumni looking to upgrade skills - it's not always heavily advertised so ask the admissions people about it.

You will be applying as a "non-degree seeking student" which does require an application process but is usually very open.

There is very limited financial aid for non-degree seeking students, make sure this school is the best option at best price if you have to pay the bill yourself.
