They may nest out of the city somewhere, in high trees with safe nests where the babies will be protected. Look for large stick nests in the top of a tree. At first, hatchling crows are bald and very helpless. In about a month from hatching, they grow their feathers in and will leave the nest and perch nearby, begging to be fed by their parents. As babies, they sound strangely like a human baby learning to talk! Young crows may stay with their parents for several years and help out around the nest before they pair up and have a family of their own.

Crows are very smart birds, and they have very fascinating lives, in my opinion. In some countries, it is illegal to own crows because people will teach them to steal things!

Yes i have seen some. my mom is an animal rehabilitator and a few people brought in a nest of them last year. They nest had been knocked out of the tree and into their garden

and to whoever said the pigon thinggy i have seen some of those too. our neighbors dog killed the mother and father of these two week old pigeons and my mom hand reared them but she tought them how to survive in the wild and they are still living outside!

    now for the baby crows...

they stay in nest that are vary well protected by their devoted parents. Their nest are high up in trees. They stay in their nest until they are ready to fledge. When they fledge they are fully covered in feathers. Sooo you might be seeing a fledging but not even knowing that it is a fledgling and mistaking it as an adult.

Sure. I live in the country & they nest around here all the time. You probably wouldn't know they were babies by looking at them. They are almost as big as the mother, by the time she takes them out of the nest. The only reason I know they're babies, is I see mom feeding them.

The mommies and daddys keep them safe till ready to fly then they off to explore the big world.
