Witch is faster hippo or elephant?

Hippo

Hippos are the second-largest land animal -- second only to elephants. Male hippos can weigh more than 6,000 pounds. Females are more "delicate," topping out around 3,000 pounds. Despite their massive bulk, hippos can run faster than humans -- up to 30 miles per hour!

Elephant

Some old records state around 30 km/hour. The only tests I heard about though, were made with 42 elephants on 30 meter distance in Surin, Thailand 10 times a day, which gave a record of 24 km per hour for the fastest elephant, while only three elephants ran faster than 15 km/hour. I doubt that you can run away from a attacking elephant... But since they are walking on "pillars", they can only keep this speed for a very short time. At speed over ap 16 km ph they change from a fast walking to a "jumping" running, where at least one foot is on the ground.

Looks like the hippo just makes it by the nose.

I'm not sure here, but I think a Hippo is faster for short bursts... but, elephants do stampede.

I'm not sure, I do know that on land hippos can out run a human. so can elephants, but I don't know which is faster.

actually they're both pretty fast, on land i would say elephant. think the hippo would win in water.

elephants do not kill more than any other animal. hippos are believed to kill more humans every year than any other african mamal. but im not sure if hippos are faster.
