Spiritually speaking, Is anyone else's Yahoo "spell checker" as dumb as mine?

Why does something there to help me spell tell me to misspell so many words? It tried to tell me earlier that "that" wasn't a word and I should change it to "Thai". I have noticed several times now that either it decides a certain word does not exist or that I should pick from a list of words that technically aren't even words.

Mine won't let me spell "color" or "neighbor" or "check" right ... what's up with that blue??

It is pretty sorry. It will underline a word as misspelled, I will know it is, but it won't come up on the spell checker. I have to open a new tad for dictionary.com. The thing is a waste of space.

    Your "Check Spelling" feature is:

    A. A back-sliding Theist who is not listening their Higher Power.

    B. An Agnostic who hasn't made up its mind as to what is correct.

    C. An Atheist who has decided that proper spelling is the opiate of the masses.

Try another feature for checking the spelling, because you will likely not get the feature to agree with you, whatever your spiritual preference might be!

The spell checker on this site has always been inferior. It's so bad that on answers that are rather long, I keep 'WORD' open so I can just cut and paste and not have to even expose myself to the third rate one yahoo uses.

mine works great most of the time, it does give me silly options for the misspelled words, but I also have ABC spell checker, from goggle.

that I installed, don't ask me how because I just stumble my way through things

and it works a lot better at identifying my mistakes..

    that

    "that"

    That

sorry I just had to try that.

    nope it works just fine.

For some strange reason it tells me to capitalize the words bible, christian, christianity, mormon, jesus, etc. and yet capital letters are not required for the word atheism. Another interesting thing is that the word Osama (as in Osama Bin Laden) always pops up as a misspelled word.

i use Firefox as my browser, and it has a spell checker automatically built into it. i get a red squiggly line if something's wrong.

i'm a great speller, i just type too fast and words sometimes get mixed together, though you wouldn't be able to tell from my answers!

Lol! I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't stand that thing. I still use it because it does catch some of my misspelled words, but some of the suggestions it gives are ridiculous.

Yep, it's pretty dumb. Ever tried to spell-check the word "Wiccans"? It tries to correct it to "Vicunas". It also doesn't recognize "proven" as a word.
