Why do mexicans have more rights in the US than US citizens ?

Bush tried to get a new hearing for a man born in Mexico and raised in the US . This man helped rape and kill 2 girls (14 & 16) . Now he wants a new hearing because he didn't have access to his countries legal council . He has been on Texas death row for 25 yrs and now wants to try to get out of his date with the needle . Why have the rights of US nationals taken 2nd place to mexican nationals ? When we tell mexico to back off and take back there people ? More importantly when will we tell our government to let us have our country back .

Update:

I do know that everyone who enters the US has the right to talk to their embassy . What I would like to know is why in the US has the same international laws that other nations like mexico choose to ignore . In the early 80's a girl and her friends went to mexico for the weekend . She goes into a drug store to get her medication refilled ( she had ashma) . The police stopped her and and put her in jail for having illeagal drugs . It took 6 days to get her released she was never alowed to have her medication . when she was released she was having an ashma attack she died before she could get to a doctor . The US was once a great country . Now it is just a country that is about to break into what may be a war that will tear it apart . Texas has the right to leave the US and become it's own country again there are many now that want it to happen and are willing to fight and die for it . Many laugh at the idea but check the web and see how many groups want Teaxs to becone a mexican state .

They don't have more rights, they have different rights. And one of those is the right to access their consulate for help should they be arrested. This isn't specific to Mexicans - ANY foreign national arrested in the United States has the right to consular access, and Americans have the right to accest our own consulates should one of us be arrested abroad. The Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 1963 establishes this right.

Instead of railing against Mexicans specifically, please try to learn what the actual laws on the matter are.

It doesn't make sense why Bush would have anything to do with it. Rape and murder are state crimes and the President should not be involved unless he pardons the man. If the crime is committed in the US then he is not allowed counsel from Mexico because there is no agreement between the two countries regarding legal jurisdiction. This is true due to the fact that Americans convicted in Mexico cannot request or have access to American counsel unless allowed by the Mexican authorities.. The same applies to other countries. All on death row are entitled to legal review regardless of citizenship. Bush could be trying to delay the execution to save the Latino vote until after the general election.

Listen to what Adam B said. I actually was going to post an answer, but he pretty much covered it.
