Ben Edwards for BBC??

Remember when he used to commentate on Eurosport's F1 coverage? He should be in line for a position with the BBC next year, alongside the fantastic Martin Brundle, and perhaps James Allen... He hasn't been that bad...

And what about Richard Hammond as presenter ala Steve Ryder?... coz I don't see him going back to the Beeb again. Either would be good, anyones better than bloody Jim Rosenthal!!

Ben Edwards would be fine by default - he's not great, but he's probably the best available. I think the beeb will bring back Steve Ryder. The only reason he left in the first place was that he got the chance to do what he'd always wanted to with ITV. he loves F1 and he's easily the best man for the job.

Just keep Richard Hammond off my screen, he doesn't have what it takes to present a tv programme with a wider audience than lads and ladettes.

Sadly I can't answer about the other commentators as I live here in the States but I have heard Ben Edwards on the BTCC, A1GP and Porsche Supercup races and like him very much. So yes, I think Edwards would be a great F1 announcer.

Sure hope so, but the Top Gear team commentating on the race should be a good laugh. The top gear with hamilton drew more viewers than the brazillian grand prix. Then again, anybodies better than those idiot ITV commentators.
