How to fix a problem with an area rug that's curling up on laminate flooring?

We have WilsonArt Classic laminate flooring and I was wondering if I could use any adhesive tapes to keep my area rug from curling up in a high traffic area. I don't want to ruin the flooring but the rug makes everyone trip and it isn't a cheap rug that we can just replace. Are there any adhesive tapes that will keep the rug down and not ruin the flooring?

You can get a special tape made just for this purpose,at any home improvement store. Plus the special rubber antislip mats work good also. But you will have to roll the bent corners backwards to get them bact in place&most likely need to tape the corners anyways.

You can buy special carpet/rug adhesive for this purpose available from the local hardware/ DIY store. They shouldn`t mark they flooring and will secure your rug firmly. I have a runner in my laminated hallway, and have stuck it down.

Alternatively, you could turn the rug over upside down for a while so the turned up edge bends the other way, but that`s not a long term solution.

tapes with adhesive will eventually leave marks but you can remove it with goo gone... you can also try rubber rugs grips made for area rugs works great and will not leave marks on the floor... will also make rig cushy... apply the adhesive tape to the rubber mat and lay mat to the floor with the rug stuck to it ....they come in mats and cut them to size... available in walmart or bed bath and beyond
