lol well, it's all going to depend on how your body is 'built' genetically. I've been through 4 prescriptions...and only 1 of them I really liked being on, although it didn't make my cramps all that much better and it didn't lighten my period all that much (the reason why I went on in the first place!). My suggestion is to keep a journal of how you feel either every day, every couple of days or every week. Things that I noticed when on it:

    -nausea

    -depression/crying spells

    -moodiness

    -complete loss of sex drive

-increased acne (except one pill which made my acne go away!)

    -still painful/heavy periods

    -anxiety

    -trouble breathing

    -blood clots

    -anger outbursts

    -bloating

    -diahheria

    -breakthrough bleeding/spotting

    -constant headache

-migraines (never had them before in my life until I went onto one of the pills!)

    -extreme fatigue

    Some of the good things:

-cleared acne (on one of the pills)

-soft skin (on two of the pills that I was on)

-increased breast size (great for me!)

-hardly any cramps (on one of the pills, but gave me severe depression so I went off of it)

-lighter period (on one of the pills, but once again, depression issue)

When I first started taking the pill, I put myself on a steady schedule: I took it at the same time every day. Very important if you want to minimalize negative side effects!! I made that time around noon because that is a typical lunch hour, and no matter where I was or what I was doing, I could always get a chance to go to the bathroom and take it.

As far as side effects: I take ortho-tricyclen low and I had some bloating and feelings of fullness. But I did have shorter-lighter periods and basically all of my acne went away!

The only side effects had were good ones! Shorter lighter periods, no more cramps, clearer skin. I was on birth control for 7 years, since I stopped last year I have had reverse side effects, my skin has started breaking out more and the cramps on the first day of my period have come back but not as bad as they were when I was younger, the 2-3 day light periods have stayed and that I am very happy about! I was on the pill for 5 years and the patch for 2. I like dthe patch as I only had to remember to change it once a wekk, though usually on day 5 or 6 of wearing it it would start to itch, but it was much better than having to remember to take a daily pill!

I take the pill (microgynon 30)

i haven't really noticed any major side effects or differences in myself, i was just as crazy before i started taking it as i am now ! but it effects every woman differently

good idea is to just go to your doctor for a blood pressure check up after a few months as this is what the pill is most dangerous for

    good luck

during the very first month (i took them for about 5 years) i broke out in a bit of a rash across the upper part of my chest.

I take the pill and i think this is the best way if you can remeber to take it daily. If you skip the pink or fake pills and go to the new pack you will skip your period.

it depends on your body and your method of bc.

ortho tri cyclen gave me HORRIBLE cramps and i got endymetriosis (sp??), but with ortho cyclen i had normal cramps. Every pill i tried made me nauseous to the point of vomiting occasionally.

Nuva Ring is awesome. no major side effects for me. normal cramps and occasional slight nausea.

Ortho TriCyclen Lo = no sex drive...That was a majorly crappy side effect!

NuvaRing = no side effects except a shorter, lighter period (and my sex drive came back!)
