Question on breeding Pomeranians?

My neighbor is trying to breed his male pomeranian to his daughters female pomeranian but when the female was in heat it refuse to allow the male to get intimate with it. Now she is no longer in heat and they will have to wait before they can try again. The female puppie is about 1 yr and a couple of months old and the male is about 1yr old. The males owner has lot of poms but only one male so there are about 5 to 6 female puppies under a year old, there when they are trying to mate. Does that affect the mating process?

Update:

Ok, I think there has been an misunderstanding. There are 6 or more dogs in my neighbors house but he only owns 2 pomeranians. Two belong to his oldest daughter and two belongs to his younger daughter but he is always dog sitting for them. He is very wealthy so does not need to breed for money. I think he just thought that because the female went into heat that she was ready. I will tell him that she is still too young,

the female may be doing this because she is not old enough. she should be at least two years old before breeding. even if they do have puppies before then, she may not know what to do, how to care for them, and they may even die. so your neighbor should wait another year or so.

SAY NO TO BACKYARD BREEDERS! and leave it to the people who know what the f*ck they are doing.

first of all, half the problem is that the female is way too young to be bred. so of course she's going to fight it.

secondly if they already have that many puppies i would say its a bad idea to churn out more mouths to feed. this is just a bad thing waiting to happen.

if they really want to breed their dogs they should do it with the guidance of a vet who would have told them that their dogs arent ready to breed yet and also made sure that they did it the right way. additionally, if they cant afford to take the dog in for the monthly or more visits for ultrasounds to make sure theres no complications in the pregnancy that could jeprodize the females life then they cant afford to be breeding in the first place and they should just stop now.

It should not affect the mating process, but many females will not mate, some will not mate with males they live with, some will only mate during a certain time during heat.

I would leave the breeding up to the professional breeders!!! Yes, Poms sell for a good $300 or better, and seems like good money but for the sake of the breed, DON'T DO IT.

Tell your neighbor that he's a BYB and doesn't have nearly enough knowledge to be breeding. The male and the female are both too young to breed - They need to be AT LEAST 2 before they should even consider it and should only go through with it after having OFA/CERF/Genetic Testing done.

IF his dogs are not show quality they should not be bred PLEASE tell him nicely to leave it to the pros. If he succeeds in breeding that poor female it is likely she will have a hard labor even die birthing, a female should be at least two to be physically and emotionally prepared for breeding! I will pray for these poor dogs and puppies, pray they stay out of shelters and/or puppy mills.

The male is young. That makes a difference. Older more experienced males seem to have better mating abilities.

No, but the fact that the poor female is way too young to be breeding might have something to do with it! Sounds like an irresponsible backyard breeder churning out pups for profit to me!!

Ack! First off, your female should be a minimum of 2 years old before she's bred for the first time.

The male should be 18 months old minimum.

Breeding consists of more than two unaltered dogs......perhaps they should research more before they do it.

Honestly, I think that you should look into artificial insemination it can be a lot easyer when it comes to breeding any animal. Also, another bonus to artifitial insemination is that the two dogs dont have to like each other or even know each other.
