Colorado Calls - Do You Like?

Listen to the lark bunting's trill

Colorado calls in the Springtime

Follow the hairstreak butterfly

hop the lavender columbine

Rocky Mountains, ancient canyons

decorate and adorn the land

Pigmented by nature's artists

silhouetted as the sun's hand

Wander the pony express trail

pass blue spruce and the grama grass

Colorado sings in the Springtime

The lyrics, you are home at last.

I won't reiterate what as been said above, they're right, the compliment I will pile upon the heap is this: rhymes and almost rhymes, I quite enjoyed them, it's good to not be afraid to stretch the rhyme to the point of breaking, and it works very well here. Springtime/columbine; grass/last. I liked that quite a bit.

    Beautiful.

I had a giant lavender Columbine around our mailbox.

I talked to the boss (Hubby?). As soon as I fix my PayPal account (long story, kinda' sad) I will process a special order for you.

I live here in Denver and can tell you, you have captured the feeling of spring in the Rockies. Beautifully done. Wow, thats the word that comes to mind.

I've never been to Colorado, but your wonderful poem makes me want to go. The imagery in the poem engages all the senses and your last two verses are poetically amazing.

Having lived there for four years, you are making me yearn to return. My favorite season was spring in the the Rockies. Well said.

I like the imagery, even though I have never been there I can see. The last line is one I feel every time I am in the forest.
