Disturbing "fact" about honey - is it true?
I just read a completely random question about honey, and a "bee technologist" answered with:
"if the honey is squeezed then it contains dead larvae, bees etc"
That is as opposed to the extracted honey, which is natural.
I was just wondering - isn't the common honey found in supermarkets etc, squeezed honey? And does that mean it actually contains "dead larvae, bees etc"? :S

Whomever came up with the "squeezed honey" bit does not know what he/she is talking about. Combs are put in a centrifuge and spun to extract the honey, then the honey is strained prior to bottling. There will be no dead larvae or bee parts in it. And - there is no such thing as a "bee technologist".

when removing the honey from the hive parts of the hive contaminate the honey. That contamination can come in many forms includeing dead larvae, bees etc.

The bees are usually very neat when they sequester their honey, but I wouldn't be surprised if some foreign material gets in from time to time.
But I believe that most producers filter their honey, so I wouldn't worry about it.

People have been eating honey since God made bees. No different than drinking apple cider with all the worm juice still in it!!

In my experience that's no longer actual. I even have continuously been greater suitable than chuffed to furnish a girl each and every of the honey she will take care of, and that i do no longer care how wealthy or undesirable she is or how lots money she spends on me.

well u think of it like ketchup, there are an allowable amount of maggots in ketchup because they use the bad tomatoes to make it, just like juices
i know because my family owns blueberry farms, and when u bring bad berries into the distributer, they could be crappy or have worms
those berries are called juice berries, they go for a lesser price than the berries going into pies or just on the shelf

no they can't put it on the market if it harmful to anyone which means that if someone is allergic to larvae then the company can get sued. It would be on the bottle if it was in there.

you would be surprised at how much other stuff you eat in things you buy at the store. I would rather not know about it all because it doesn't harm you.
