Is frozen meat just as good as fresh meat? Does it loose any nutrients by freezing?

If you buy fresh meat and cook it right away is the meat better than say meat that you bought fresh but kept in the freezer for a month before cooking it? Does the meat loose any nutrients by freezing it or not?

No, however it may not be as tender.

Fresh meat is better than frozen meant because fresh meat is just tasting better, refreshing, and if you eat the frozen meant than you don't just have the same taste you would have as the fresh meat. They pack frozen meat with chemicals at the store and to me the meat just looks "blah" like the meat you would give to a dog. Make a better choice and move on to fresh meat!

    1.you'll feel good.

    2.it will taste better.

    3.it doesn't look like "blah"

    4.it NOT packed with chemicals.

and also if your wondering why they put chemicals in the frozen meat is to make it look "so calledly fresh" and so the meat will last long.

    your welcome.

    hope i could help.

It doesn't lose any nutrients. It does, however lose some enzyme activity (which helps break down the meats in our digestive system, and serves to help "age" and flavor meat.)

However, as cooking destroys enzymes, period, enzyme breakdown is not a significant issue. And with a ton of steak sauce...who notices any flavor loss?

The only concern with freezing is freezer burn, which hurts flavor and consistency.

the water component of the meat freezes when out in the freezer, and when you fefrost these the juices just don't taste the same...the meat is tougher, and less tasty. jus buy meat on the day you are cooking it and put it in the fridge until you need it.

It will lose some, but not enough to worry about. What often happens when meat is kept frozen that long is it dries out unless very well wrapped.

i dont think its possable for it to lose nutrients but it does kinda change the texture of the meat a little. so fresh is best =]

Doesn't everything lose nutrients by freezing? I would say no, not as good as fresh.

It looses texture more than anything but that is over a long period of time.

it just means it gets older and more worn because you keep it in the fridge, it prolly is beter to eat it right away but it wont kill it by keeping it in the freezer
