MacBook - they run Windows too. The MacBook will be faster and more stable over all than the HP.

As for accessories - get the Mac then see what you need as they come loaded with stuff that you can use straight out of the box. Main thing to get would be a laptop carry bag.

Even though I'm writing you from a MacBookPro and am a loyal Mac user, if the HP had a better warranty, I'd buy it. The software costs for Macs (like MS Office, photoshop, etc) can be higher, so if you're on a budget, you'll get more computer for less $$ with the HP. Also, laptop PC's generally only last 2-3 years after you drop them several times (ouch).

Personal preference, I will go for HP. It does strong set of specs for the price. I am always been fans of the HP Pavilion design.....the black-and-silver finish featured the "Radiance" imprint is really nice compare to MacBook. Another specialty is the lightscribe DVDRW, which etches labels directly onto a disc's surface, that's really cool! Anyway, I will get my self a HP Pavilion dv2500t soon....so i think you can consider that as well.

The HP has better stats but I prefer Macs as I trust the quality of the hardware and prefer the OS.
If you don't mind running Windows go with the HP.

Personal preference - I'd go with HP.
HP offers good support which is as important as the price, trust me - and the specs as you list look good.

Its all a matter of preference.
For me..Mac hands down. Better computers, better Operation Systems. More stable, no viruses, doesn't crash like vista/xp/pcs do.
I love apples, i have owned PCs as well and have had headaches with them.
