Why do people ask such stupid weight loss questions ???????
i thought this section would be full of questions about hints and tips on diet and excersice(to make the most of what you are doing) but all that ever seems to be on here is stupid questions like if i dont eat for a month will i lose weight ????it drives me mad .The way to lose weight is to cut down on calories , eat a balanced and healthy meal not cutting out any food group ,and excercise .Im no saint when it comes to being on a diet but people we all know wots healthy and whats not .Only eating apples or carrots or whatever will not work ??????Does this kind of thing bother anyone else or just me ??????????
like the quote bill
as i said at the very beginning of my question , its tips and hints that i would have expected .Im sorry if u disagree with this but asking if only eating carrotts for a month or anythin else like that IS a stupid question the person asking knows this yet still asks ,THATS wot i find weird
well said brandy ,im totally with you ,you should be happy with your body and diets shouldnt be your life .Its totally up to the individual to lose a few pounds if they wish it shouldnt be forced upon

Sort of makes you wonder about some people don't it?
the only thing that will work is discipline, and that's hard.

There are a few things that get me down. People asking how to drop 10 lbs in a week, people saying that some foods have "negative calories", http://ezinearticles.com/?The-Top-5-Fat-Loss-Myths... Anorexics asking for weight loss partners.
But, some people really don't have a clue and I think it's good they come here to ask. Maybe they will learn something useful. Tips and hints are great and I've learned a lot here but I don't mind the "newcomers" and the teenagers asking questions, even if they seem stupid sometimes. They aren't stupid to the person asking.

I think part of it comes from the fact that we now live in a world where everything is here, now, fast, quick, quicker!! We can have a full cooked Sunday roast done in the microwave in a few minutes, instead of baking a cake from scratch we can get packet mixes and again, put these in the microwave.
People have forgotten how to prepare 'real' food - by that I mean preparing a meal from scratch with fresh ingredients.
If everything else in life can be done so quickly, people expect the weightloss to be done just as quickly too hence the "I am 12 and weight 8stones. How can I lose 14lbs in 2 weeks without exercise pleezzeeee" requests.
I hope that makes sense in my weird kind of logic!

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.
Get started today!

I understand your frustration but there are people out there that just don't know certain things and that is why they ask. Those people have a right like all of us to ask anything they want. And we have to respect every question that they ask. I think you are at the wrong place if you think that “Diet & Fitness” should only be about giving out hints and tips on dieting. Maybe you should go to this link:whatscookingamerica.net/Information/DietingHintsTips.htm - 23k . Or if you need more info on this go to search and write hints and tips on dieting. Y

i admit before coming to this site that i didn't know that starving would actually make it harder to lose weight.
yes, i cannot stand questions like if i only eat apples will i lose weight or if i only eat 500 calories will i lose weight, etc.
even when people ask how to become anorexic or bullimic. i refuse to answer those people. and anyone with any sense will not answer them too.
people that ask those questions are quite young and want the quickest way to lose weight possible. we've just got to steer them in the right direction. knowledge is key!

Computers and Internet become cheaper and more available to a broader audience over time.
Broader audience means you will get questions from people from both ends of the spectrum.
Actually probably mostly from one end of the spectrum as the other side does their own research on the Internet, which I find faster anyway.
It was always my opinion that how much you put into your body determines your weight. The speed at which you digest will have an effect after that.
The types of things you put into your body e.g. consuming protein and carbs at the same time will make your body digest the easier (protein) first and put the other (carbs) into fat storage.
After that vitamins and minerals help with immune system and well being.

Not everyone is as sensible as you, and they want a quick fix hence the reason the diet market is worth millions of pounds each year. I know that you have to eat healthily and take exercise, but no everyone knows that or if they do, they don't like exercising and want a short cut.

Go for protein rather than sugar to keep energy levels going strong rather than crashing. Edamame in pods could be the perfect snack since it takes a while to eat and a one-cup portion offers 12 grams of necessary protein.

i agree with you 100% there but i think people are just so desperate to lose weight and they dont realise that is they lose weight at a great speed then yes they will feel better but not for long because they will develop stretchmarks which will be with them for life even though they do fade
