Is India deviating from socialistic pattern of society?

The gap between the rich and poor is increasing alarminly. It is at the thresold of becoming an economic giant and at the same time its poor farmers are comming suicides.

What are the options to ensure balanced growth for every citizen of the country? Also what can be done for the development of the rural sector so that migration is minimised?

    When did India ever had a social state? I mean, as far as I remember, university students were demonstrating AGAINST affirmative policies for untouchables in university!
