Are these words worth a thousand pictures?

How Many

How many words is a picture worth?

How many words indeed.

If I had a picture of Elaine P,

How many would I need?

I'd have to start with her lovely hair,

And tell the tale so true,

And say if it is short or long,

Tell color and it's hue.

Then I must use a lot of words,

To show her beauty deep.

I hope I don't run out of words,

Or her sharp wrath I'll reap.

Her skin so soft must be described,

And done in rich detail.

The feel or her hand touching me,

In this I must not fail.

To tell the world just what I see,

Will be a mighty task.

But when I've finished doing this,

In her pure light I'll bask.

Her waspy waist and full round hips,

Her pretty upturned nose.

Her supple legs and gorgeous thighs,

And pretty ruby toes.

The smile that make the young men's hearts,

Beat fast within their chest.

Let's every man who sees her know,

That she must be the best.

Update:

So if I write one thousand words,

About this picture sweet.

To end I'd need a million more,

Piled up around my feet.

yeah, it has a couple of wobbles, I'll fix them later.

Update 2:

See how they run:

It is I who would be lucky if I should ever see how she really looks. The picture I have described is a figment of my imagination brought forth by the questions and answers I have seen posted by this lady with a very caring heart and soul.

Update 3:

Oh, not the least, although I may tend to be old and forgetful, is her definite talent for writing poetry.

Update 4:

My thanks to Annabella for the heads up to the pic on poetsofmars. Had I have seen that before I wrote this, it would indeed have been a thousand words or more.

I only wish every guy was as thoughtful as you. This is lovely indeed. I believe your words are worth way more than any picture....... With a pic everyone sees the person and everyone has different ideas of beauty (some may not think she is beautiful), with the words you write everyone forms a picture of beauty in their mind so all think she is beautiful.

As I read your poem, I envisioned all the things you talked of. I also noticed that you left us to our own imaginations as to things like hair color and length, height, weight ect. We each conjer in our own mind the vision of beauty that must be Elaine P. I loved reading this, and when I saw Annabella's answer, I linked over and found the pic on poetsofmars. She is a personification (to use one of your own words) of gorgeousness. The vision in my head looked totally different, but the picture of Elaine did not disappoint me in the least, she is truely beautiful, as is your poem about her. How much can I say about this poem? Too much, I fear, so I'll hush while I'm ahead. Write on man, write on. I love your work.

Although you used the name of Elaine P. in your poem, I have figured out that it will fit any woman, for you have not described one lady, but all of them, no matter who. I also went to the page to see her picture, and she really is a beautiful lady, although the picture is a bit on the lowres side.

Lovely poem for a lovely lady, the way it should always be.

I could say so much about this poem, but looking at the answers already posted, it would be redundant. I don't know how you can keep cranking these things out, and it seems each one is even better than the last, even though I thought the last one was perfect. I hope you never run out.

    OHHHHHHhhh, you silver tongued devil!!!

That is so precious. I know Elaine will just have a fit over that one. I know I am, and you didn't do it for me. You are describing what could be a goddess, and I for one sure wish I had those features. If I send you a picture, can you describe me in a thousand words (probably much less)?

    Great poem too.

    Love always KS.
