A little question about Marine Boot Camp?

My boyfriend will be graduating Marine bootcamp in about 3 weeks. Is there anything I should know or expect before I head out to family day/graduation day?

Thank You

He won't come out a jerk. that was rude and wrong.

I've seen a lot of the Marines after graduation, come out respectful, more confident, and certainly in great physical condition.

I'm not sure if you're going to MCRD San Diego or Parris Island. If you are heading to Parris Island, it is much more rural than San Diego and the choices of hotels are slim!

The Hampton Inn is decent, and I'd book that as soon as possible.

Some families like to buy Tshirts for the company your boyfriend is in.

You'll see wonderful ceremonies on graduation day! Awesome in my opinion.

Family day is nice, and he'll have a lot of experiences he's had in boot camp. It's a proud accomplishment.

    oooh rah

and thank him for his service from a fellow Y/A fan.

For the two days on base, he'll be VERY cautious about any public displays of affection. You'll get a hug following the ceremony, but he'll be under orders to "escort" his mom wherever you go on the base, if she's there. If she's not, then he'll be escorting you. Dress and behave with class and you'll be fine. Make sure he can be as proud to escort you around the base during family day as you are of him!!

Oh.. and take kleenex!! It's a real tear jerker!!

Just be prepared for him to act a little more macho than usual for the first few days. You'll meet a side of him that is much more mature and appreciative of you. It might be nice to buy a shirt from USMCgals and wear it to graduation to show him how proud you are!

my husband graduated boot camp october 26th. when you see him, he won't be the same person. be prepared for that. congrats on standing by your marine!

    *edit*

they aren't neccesaraly jerks. mine came home and was a better person than he left to be. oh and he'll be ready to kill something too lol. that's normal though

He'll be more of a jerk.

    That's about it.
