My HCG level is dropping, how long does it take to miscarry?
My HCG level was 98 on the 19th, then 130 on the 21st. Then on the 25th it was 129. My doctor told me that I am going to miscarry and to expect bleeding this next week. So far, a week later, nothing has happened, no spotting or cramping. Some pregnancy signs have dropped, but now it seems like my hunger is back up and I am getting tired again. I have another blood test monday. How long does it take to miscarry? Can numbers go up after they have gone down? And if they did go up and I still am pregnant, would the baby be healthy?

You should have miscarried by now. It happens pretty quickly after the levels drop. Maybe a few days at most. Although it should have doubled at least by the 3rd test, a 1 point drop in HCG doesn't sound like much. The HCG is going up more slowly than it should be but if you're very early, it might just be your body. It's also possible the test was wrong or misread, but this is unlikely. There is also a possiblity that you may require help to miscarry - like a D&C maybe. Wait until the test on Monday really confirms the miscarriage and then see your dr asap no matter what the results. I'd want an ultrasound immediately if the tests say I was still pregnant, just to be sure everything is as it should be. Best of luck to you.

Once your number has dropped you will miscarry. I had the same excact thing happen to me a few months ago and was hoping for a miracle too. I got my period a week or so later. Your doc will keep testing you until you decline to a certain number as to make sure you do not have a tubal or ectopic pregnancy. Sorry, I know it is so disappointing.
