I would HIGHLY reccomend you get it done professionally , even if you have to make friends with some hobo of the side of the street thats 18 or older to take you because its safer and you will have a lower risk of infection. plus it will be quick and less painfull.

but if you do decide to do yourself then....

make sure every things sterile. VERY sterile

the needle, the place where you piercing, and the gloves. all need to be sterilized.[where gloves]

After getting any piercing, you have to leave the surgical steel piercing jewelry in while it heals. For the septum, it's about 6-10 weeks. They do make a piercing horseshoe that you can flip up into your nose. The plastic retainers are meant for use after your piercing had healed. Plastic is more porous, therefore would leave your fresh piercing more prone to infection.

I would not recommend doing it yourself. There is a reason people have to apprentice to become a piercer.

I have my septum pierced. And I do not recomend that you do it or have one of your friends do it for you. I want you to know that the septum is one of the most painful piercings that there is. And can get infected very easily, and it hurts the first week or so when you get it done. So do not get it. There is a reason your mom doesnt think you should have it.

I had to wait a while till my mom finally said yes and I just got mine done on St. Pattys...

And in my opinion I do not think you would look good with a septum piercing. I am just being completely honest... Your nose looks a little to wide for it.

DON"T PIERCE YOUR OWN SEPTUM! it could become infected, and then you have to tell your mom. get it done professionally. i think that if you want to pierce your septum, you should be allowed to, only if your patents let you, since you need their permission to get it done professionally. in my opinion, people with septum piercings look like they have a bull ring through their nose. my cousin's Friend had a piercing that got ripped out during a fight, so now she has ripped and ugly scars. think about that with any piercing on your face. its an easy weak point.

I say dont do it at all trust me your mom will see a piercing isnt something that is easy to hide and you'll be tryin to hide it all the time better not do it.

anyways, just get a needle and stick it through your nose where you can actually see the septum after its done

not the hard section which is the bone or w.e

then after flip it up so you cant your mom see

no offence but i dont think it would suit you but hey its your nose not mine.but as your mum sees you everyday,she will notice it no matter what you have in it.its not worth the pain just to have to take it out when she sees it.
