Our repressive puritan culture still has difficulties separating eroticism from regualr healthy activity...
Anyways, in my opinion the best way to get the word out to those who are really looking for health benefits is to target otehr health delivery sites. You can ask or partner with a local physiotherapy clinic. They can refer you clients, or perhaps you can rent time in their clinic.
If you are still a student (unlicensed) then you can contact another massage therapist and volunteer your services for free or fraction of the fee they charge. This way you get experience under someone who can also teach you the business side of things.
And remember.. don't give up. The first 3 years of any business is rough!

To get more clients you should ask friends and family to be practice clients and ask your existing clients for referrals. If you do advertise or market your services you may run into some creeps who are looking for more than a massage. This isn't paranoia but a sad aspect of the business.
I am somewhat concerned with what you are being taught (or not taught) in school. The state of Colorado does not currently regulate massage therapy. Local city and county governments may place other restrictions on the practice of massage therapy. If you accept compensation for massages then you are opening yourself up to liability issues.

I am also going to school for massage therapy and in Ohio you can't charge while in school. One idea for when I graduate is to do mobile massage. I do plan on being careful, especially with men.

Start working at a reputable spa. If you want to go freelance word of mouth is generally your best advertisement. You can also create a pamphlet with the services you offer and a description of the service so there is no misunderstanding. wouldn't offer it out of your house or go to a strangers house obvious reasons

Massage helps increased blood flow through the skin and muscles that helps wash off the stagnated blood and accumulated waste in the skin, muscles and overall body. This effect causes relaxation physically and mentally. The end result is feeling fresh, energetic, happy. Be careful with the oils, persons with heart troubles should not use oils but dry massage instead.

Advertising. Put an ad in the paper. You're not going to get anyone to ask for a happy ending, that's just paranoia. If soemone does do that just walk out and call the cops, lol. Seriously..
