speaking lie--The habit in children?
children speak lie for various reasons1.To save them from punishment 2.To be important within sphere of friends and much more. But the most important reason is that actually they follow thier parents habit of doing so.They try to make fools to others because they have seen thier parents do likewise, and hence they imitate. What do you think?

I have one niece and two nephews, they pull speak lie
tactics on me, their parents and grandfather almost
every time they get into trouble.
Yes, they do learn from the parents, they mimic everything
we say and do, and we now have to be careful around
them. Young 3 and 4 year olds are the greatest
imitators in the world.
Don't let anybody tell you different.. As for the speak lie,
there is something else they add to it, the sad puppy
dog "I'm sorry" look, and darn it you can't stay
mad at them.

It doesn't have to have anything to do with the parents. They learn it when they're first experiencing regret, as a defense mechanism. The fear of punishment is making the regret feel even worse and the child feels that the magnified regret is punishment enough for them to be able to live with, so they tell a lie to avoid punishment, rather than just receive punishment. Because they feel it would be unfair to both experience regret and punishment. And when they lie, they choose regret over punishment.
