Calling all wordsmiths! Your expert help is required!?

Ok, below is an extract from an interview I'm writing. I'm suffering from a dose of writer's block and would appreciate some ideas.

I need the 2nd paragraph of this extract changed to something a little more literary. Any ideas?

… worked for a number of high profile companies, including xxx, one of the UK’s top ten xxx companies and xxx, a sports marketing company, where he looked after the publicity for yachting events, truck racing, the xxx and expeditions to the North Pole.

Following this high profile role, xxx challenged himself further and set up xxx in 19xx at the young age of xx, a role that he threw himself into and has thoroughly enjoyed since.
