Tattoo distortion on lower stomach?
I plan on getting a tattoo of a saying that means a lot to me.
I also plan on having kids later in life, how much would a tattoo between my hip bones (lower stomach/panty line area) distort after becoming pregnant?
Wow, thanks.
Now I just have to decide on a new place.

Well your tattoo will end up stretching, then it'll end up looking horrible afterwards. I suggest you not get it in that area. Get it somewhere where it won't stretch much. For example, lower back, ankle, neck, wrist, etc.

yes they stretch. the million dollar question is will it look normal after you loose the baby weight? it all depends on everyone's body. if you develop stretch marks on the tattoo, it will more than likely look deformed. i personally have a daugher, and with a rigorous work out plan and a strict diet, i was able to loose all my baby weight. I also applied a lot of vitamin e oil so i wouldnt develop stretch marks, and i got lucky. my tattoos look fine, but like i stated before, this is my body, and not everyone reacts the same way. every body is different and there is no guarantee. if you are truly worried about it, i would suggest you pass on the location, and pick somewhere else.

Everyone is different, but if you wanted to be on the safe side don't get anything near the stretching areas. I got cherries on my lower right hand side of my stomach..and after two pregnancies they are very distorted.

Trust me, don't get it there if you are considering having children. It will stretch and become VERY distorted. Either get the tattoo somewhere else or don't get one. Anyway, when you get older and grow, it will still get distorted. And when you get really old and have flabby skin or something it will look really bad. But beleive me, it will probably distort so much when you are older anyway it will look gross.

well lets just say my sister had a rose tattooed in that same place and she is now 8 months pregnant and now the rose looks like a tree. I dont know how its going to look after she has the baby though, hopefully it shrinks back into a rose

Not sure about all the way across, but I have one to the left side, about 2 inches in diameter. It stretched only a little bit during pregnancy, but went back to normal afterwards. I've had it about 6 years.

a lot i would imagine, but ur suppose to get tattoos "touched up" every couple of years anyways, so that shouldnt b a problem.

Depends on how big you get. Or if you have to have a C section. I would suggest getting the tat elsewhere.

I would say quite a lot, and the color will look like its faded abit.
