Have you got a bass speaker as well? This happened to me for like half a year and then i noticed that was down all the way and i didn't even know it had a volume setting..
If not then you have probably plugged it in the wrong place or you need to install something
Go to your control panel and speaker settings and fiddle until it finds your speaker

Go into the control panel and then click on Sound and Audio devices.
Navigate around in there until you get the full set of volume options. I am sure you will find something wrong in there - some parameter that is not set correctly.

If you have a Vista computer then it's not you it's the computer!!!!!!! If you didn't set up the computer wrong then you probably need to go out a buy separate speakers, or you can just buy some head phones you'll save money.

Are they plugged in?
Go to start, control panel, sounds speech and audio devices. Double check that the volume is up on the speakers and they are plugged in to the appropriate spots.

Do check the troubleshooting at the AV sound system or the sound card itself. Try to change the speakers jack and connect it to the correct one which matches its colour i.e output to speakers.

Go to control panel and check your speaker/sound section. It should indicate if you have speakers or whatnot. If nothing appears, then you prob. connected it wront or something. Also, make sure you connected it right! Good luck

If they work on something else, then maybe you have them plugged into the wrong socket. Double-check this first.
