First off, you shouldn't be using your name for any email addresses for security purposes unless its for work. You would just need to keep tabs on the new email address you want to use because after 6 months or so, the tech support at Yahoo will delete the unused email address or you can go to your current email and cancel the account.

You can have as many yahoo email addresses as you want. I have two, one for messing around on the net and giving email addresses to contests etc. and the other for only business. Just go to the Yahoo main page and click the link for yahoo mail. Then click the one for create an email account.

You can open more than one email. I have two myself. Keep one for personal use, with close friends or family, and the other for business and other uses.

it should always be open but it is best to check now and then incase any contacts don't no about your new email so you can see if they are still emailing you
