Torrents, Torrents help me wit Torrents.?

I am having some problems with downloading torrents. For the ones that do start, the d-load speed is constant but as soon as I view a web page it goes to zero and then I have to stop it and start it over just for it to resume.

I don't know if it's that seed and peers thing is a factor. ( still don't know what they mean )

And some from certain sites just don't work! Is it because of where I live, Trinidad & tobago?

I'm using Bit Torrent by the way.

Peer to Peer is basically a direct connection between 2 users over the internet where they send and recieve data from each other. Peers on a torrent is the amount of people downloading the torrent, the seeds is the number of people that have finished downloading and are uploading. Peers also upload while they're downloading, but too a lesser extent. A person who when finishes downloading doesnt host the file to a 1.00 ratio is known as a leecher and can be banned from certain sites.

Your problem may lie in the fact that when you load something, your internet connection needs to pull more resources to load the page, and will reduce connection to bit torrent. It's hard to explain and i dont exactly mean it like that, but you get my point.

Some sites may not work because of where you live, but thats all dependant on laws and if your ISP blocks the site, or a few other things. If this is the case, look up proxys then try to go onto the site.

    Hope i've helped.

seed is the people who have it who you are downloading from peers or leachers are people who are downloading it

You have to limit the amount of outbound/inbound connections in your bittorent application. Search in your program help file.

Or try using a different port setting.
