When starting a dog-walking business, is it safe to walk more than one dog at a time?

I don't want to end up with two aggressive dogs attacking each other. (or worse, one aggressive dog attacking a weaker one)

I'm thinking of only doing one dog at a time from the beginning, and seeing if some dogs are gentle enough to add another one to the route, but then again, the new one could be aggressive. (argh)

Any help?

If you know how to be a pack leader, then you can walk as many dogs as you like. Cesar Millan and Jan Fennell both walk a dozen dogs at a time - on leash or off leash If you don't know how to be a pack leader, then walking even one dog may be dangerous if the dog pulls his leash out of your hand so he can chase after a squirrel, a cat, or another dog.

There are two "MUST READ" books you can probably get at Amazon.com.

    1. The first is "The Dog Whisperer" by Cesar Millan. Teaches you how to be a pack leader.

    2. The second is "The Dog Listener" by Jan Fennell. Teaches you how to get willing cooperation from your dog.

    Good luck!

You should just do one dog at a time until you get an established clientel and you know more about each dog. Then see which ones get along with others and walk good on a leash.

it is a good idea to start walking one dog but if you still find that you are not sure of walking more then one dog at a time then i think you should walk one dog for a hour or two then take that one back its owner and pick up another one that way their is no risk that the dogs fight because you are only handling one dog at a time.

I would suggest talking to someone who does this. They could give you some tips on things you may not have thought about.
