Pomegranite & tea stain on knitting in progress... help!?

Any suggestions MUCH appreciated!

One of the people i'm teaching to knit is making a beautiful cable sweater in a peach colored cotton yarn. She has already put probably 60 hours of knitting and $80 in yarn into this project, so it's important to find a way to remove this stain.

Her cat, hahaha, had a contibution... to knock pomegranite tea onto the sweater. The stain looks to be a combination of fruit juice and black tea, and has left a purple-ish grayish stain on it.

I thought perhaps she can test Oxi-clean on scrap yarn (we can test any remedy to see if it removes the yarn color). Does anyone have any other suggestions? I hope? Pleeease? :D

Well, I would suggest that you not use "Oxy-Clean." lol

I think the "Sun" oxygen cleaner is much better. It can be bought at "Dollar General" for $5 for a large tub of it. I have gotten stains out that I never thought would come out of things. I have had to soak a few items for a few days, but it usually works.

I have never come across this problem...of course, I don't knit either. I have started to crochet, but have not had any spills yet. So sorry for your friend. I hope you find something to help her.
