Tim Redding one hits the Phils?

Ryan Zimmerman gets his 3rd game winning RBI of the year.

The Nats are 3-0!

I know its early... Are you ready to give the Nationals some respect this year?

Update:

I'm not talking about a division run here.

Mets and Phillies fans think they're going to stomp all over DC this year. People off the east coast think the Nats are the Pirates or something.

The Royals are 3-0 too. I don't talk about KC because I haven't seen them play since the 1985 World Series.

All I'm talking about is a little respect.

Update 2:

Please excuse my oversight... the Royals are 2-0.

I am a Phillies fan and they were one of my sleepers before the year even started. They reloaded their team with talented players, their young pitchers are coming into their own and they are quietly building a decent team. LoDuca still has a decent bat behind the plate. This is not a surprise to me, I think my Philles won last year DESPITE their manager and I hope they can rebound to do the same this year. At least Hamels pitched a good game. I think they deserve a lot more respect than they are getting, it would be great to see them succeed in that market!

Did you see the way Cole Hamels pitched in that game? If it wasn't for Zimmerman's play on offense and defense, the Nationals wouldn't have scored and might well have given up a run to the Phillies in the 7th.

I can see the Nationals staying competitive this season, but Zimmerman has to stay healthy and to continue his MVP-caliber performance for that to happen. The Nationals could be 0-3 right now if a few plays had gone the other way, but they've earned all 3 of their wins. I still think that the Nationals are a long shot to win the NL East, but there is so much parity in baseball these days that even the longshots have a much better chance than they used to (the Nationals and Orioles led the East divisions for most of the season a few years ago).

I used Tim Redding against the Phils almost every time last yr. He has a great career record & numbers against the Phils. I was pretty positive the Phils would lose tonight. For some reason, they cannot figure him out. Look at his numbers.

    Source(s): Before tonight, his numbers against the Phillies: GS 6 W 2 L 2 SV 0 CG 0 SO 0 IP 36.2 H 28 R 14 ER 13 HR 3 BB 16 K 30 ERA 3.19 WHIP1.20 BAA.212

I'm not surprised nor did I never count them out of possibly giving the Mets, Braves, and Phillies a run for their money this year.

You can never count out a young team with that much potential and promise.

no because this happened 3 years ago, nats were in 1st for a while then they finished in last, and the phils always start out slow then make up for it
