Please recommend a user-friendly freeware program that converts .avi files to play in regular DVD players.?

I'm looking for a freely downloadable (full version) program that allows for easy, one-click burning of .avi files to play in a standard US DVD player.

    I always use avs video tools to convert and burn AVI file to DVD for play on my home player. It's not free, but I think it well worth the money, it's easy to use and works nice for me, here is a step by step guide about it
