Is it true that the Korean palate is so accustomed to hot spicy food that...?

McDonald's hamburgers taste uncomfortably spicy to a typical American visitor?

I've heard this and want to verify it by someone who's in the know.

Update:

... as served by McDonald's in Korea, that is.

I was in a McDonald's last week in Gangneung (on So. Korea's east coast).

I rarely go to McD's because it's not very healthy -- but I went this time, and ordered a Big Mac.

It tasted just like the ones in the States ....

There might be some "spicy burgers" on the menu here, because McD's will have "local flavors" on the menu in different countries -- teriyaki burgers in Japan, for example.

But I didn't notice it when I went to McD's last week -- I just grabbed the Big Mac.
