Should we pray when times are hard?

pray to God to help you through these hard times..for e.g. if you have a big exam..ask him to help you to motivate you to study..you have to show effort and enthusiasm so God can help you all the way...he is very loving..talk to Him like His your friend...He is always there for His children..

Of course! If you don't pray when times are hard, you won't be able to attribute the improvement to prayer when things get better.

Things nearly always do get better, so praying when things are bad will give you many opportunities to say "See! Prayer really works!"

Pray the best prayer you know how to pray. Sometimes when things are really bad like they are now. All I can get out is " Jesus Help me" if that is all you can get out then that is fine.

I have been having a very tough time of things. Some days it seem like the words just flow right out of me . Then other days I cant get a word out.. I know how you feel. So does God and he is carrying us during these times. Do your best and leave the rest to him....God bless you !

Sometimes things are so rough that we can hardly pray! The Lord knows our hearts! There have been times that I have been in so much pain and all I could do was cry out to God and He heard me and helped. There is no certain type of prayer, just pray from your heart.

that's when we most need to pray!! it's easy to pray when everything in your life is goin fine & dandy, but when things take a turn for the worse that's when you need to cry out to God & draw closer to Him. just pray that He would give you the strength that you need, and for the peace & the grace that will pull you through =] also, just give everything over to God--i know it's stinkin' hard, but once we do He promises to take it & everything begins to take on a new appearance. you see that w/ God you have the strength to make it thru this hard time and that He will be with you every step of the way =] so in answer to your question--yes pray when times are hard, pray when times are good, & mostly pray when you don't feel like praying...

1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.

Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

That includes hard times. They are a spiritual strengthening experience and through prayer, will bring you closer to God. But praying only when things are going well goes against the direct instruction from God for us all to pray without ceasing. We must pray to God through out our day. When we get up in the morning. Before each meal. Before we go out to work, or school for traveling mercies, and for His advice through out the day. He won't let you down.

prayer is very hard when things are tense. Sometimes I just keep saying the name of Jesus---this in itself is a powerful prayer but also register your concerns (you could just say private intentions) on a prayer chain and they will pray for you too. My Church has one and alot of them do.

Times are always hard. Think of the tens of thousands of children who die everyday of malnutrition.

Think of the people in Darfur in the midst of a genocide.

Think of the brave children who are battling cancer everyday.

Why would you choose to pray only when your life is inconvenienced in some minor way?

It Works better if you Pray and Get Strong BEFOR the Hard Times.

satan is going to make sure that Storms Come Along.

It is Hard to Build your House DURING the Storm.

Build your House BEFOR the Storm and it won't bother you much.

Your "House" is what the World calls your Psychi (sy--ke) (whatever! :)

It is your "Believe System" inside of you.

If you'll Build your House on the Word of GOD you won't be on Sinking Sand when the Storm Hits!

Most do not pray ... when time are EASY! See Job 2:10 !

(Luke 18:1) And he spoke a parable to them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

AND.....

(2Corinthians 12:7-to-10) And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

(2Co 12:8) For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.

(2Co 12:9) And he said to me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

(2Co 12:10) Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
