My mom passed away suddenly (of a brain aneurysm). She was only 47. However, she'd already pre-planned her funeral and one of the songs was "Always on My Mind" by Willie Nelson. She wasn't there most of my life and I had a lot of resentment toward her. When that song played, I knew she'd selected it for me. Everytime it comes on, I have to change the station or turn it off. We were at a Willie concert a couple of years ago and I was listening with tears streaming down my face. I'm tearing up just thinking abou it.

It was only 6 years ago, so maybe I'll be able to listen to it again one day. But not yet.

Yes!!! Have you ever smelled something that reminds you of a great food? a great field full of flowers? a nasty smell of a factory you used to drive by? Same thing with music, she is not silly, she is attached to her mom's memory and that is totally fine, I know which song play to make my dad cry that makes him remind his mother and my dad is 65, now he is not silly either, he has the love for his mother and she died 30 years ago and my dad still cries when he hears that song. So a good thing to do for a while would be to don;t listen to that specific song. God bless! :)

Your grand daughter is fine! I cry over a lot of songs that I hear! I'm a very sensitive person but a couple of songs that make me cry are "Angels Among Us" by Alabama and "I Love You This Much" by Jimmy Wayne because it makes me think of how I never really get to see my dad cause he lives in Texas with my step-mom and he never really talks to me! "Angels Among Us" makes me cry cause I think of my Grandpa who died in 2004! I still remember that day like it was yesterday! Well, good luck!

there's nothing wrong with her at all. Sometimes, a certain song could have been playing at the moment of something sad, and and that song later on evokes those sad emotions.

For me, I sorta tear up when I hear "In My Life" from the Beatles. Great song, but so sad...

Oh, she is not being silly at all, I always cry when I hear Carly Simon's "love of my Life, every single time, and also "in the arms of the angels", I am 42, she's totally normal, and it shows she has emotions.

aww, poor girl. it's normal that she cries though, i couldn't imagine not having my mom around (if you mean that her mom isn't around anymore). one song that makes me cry is concrete angel by martina mcbride because it's a sad song about a girl who gets beat up by her mom and she dies, but she goes to a better place. it makes me tear up every time i see the video. also, when you're gone by avril lavigne makes me sad. i almost cry every time i see the video at the part with the old man, it just gets me...great song though.

If You Are Reading This by Tim McGraw gets me all the time. I have a husband, best friends, and family members in the military. I have come to realize that no matter how many times I hear it, it won't get any easier...
