  • What do you miss being able to do without lots of time, trouble, and/or pain?

While pregnant what do you miss being able to do without it taking forever, seeming like it isn't worth the effort, or just it is too darn uncomfortable to actually want to do?

With me I was amazed how long it takes to take a shower when having to shave. And cleaning the living room with my daughter is like an olympic sport because of the squatting.

And on average how long does it take to shower when you shave while pregnant? 40 minutes for me. 33W4D.

  • How old were your kids when you let them play outside by themselves?

I live in a military housing complex that is in the community therefore anybody can drive into it and see what you are up to. My question how old were your children before you let them play outside by themselves? In my mind my son is too young to go knocking on other people's doors and asking if they can play by himself. He is six. I will let him outside in our fenced in backyard while I am in the house and still keeping an eye out for him not to mention the many times he will run in the house for another toy.

But I find it annoying that parents of first graders let their children just knock on our door expecting me to let my child out to play while no one is actually watching them. I also think that parents should get together to set up times in the day the kids can actually play. My son always comes home with homework and usually has other things going on through out the night that we usually don't have time to play during the week and on the weekends we are busy with family things so I do feel guilty that my son doesn't get to play with his friends but I also feel like the parents should at least come with the kids to make sure it is okay if they play.

Am I wrong in my thoughts? Thanks everybody!

  • How would you handle a situation like this?

My son came home from school with a big bruise on his shoulder blade and when I asked him how he got it he said he didn't remember so I emailed the teacher is there anything else I should do? I do have pictures so I could email them or take them to the principle but I just don't know how to handle this since my son can't remember how it happened. Thanks for your answers.

  • Good places to be stationed...?

My husband is trying to decide where he wants to put in to be stationed. He is in the Navy. We are currently in the Hampton Roads area (Norfolk, Virginia Beach) but we are looking to move somewhere out of this area. Don't get me wrong it is a great place but we are ready for the change.

My husband is a YN. When we were looking at the open billets we saw everything from Germany to Ft. Leavenworth KS. We were just wondering where would be a good place to move with two kids and make it possible for me to continue my education?

If possible explain why it is a good place. If you raised a family and good things to do with the kids. Thanks a lot.

  • Kindergartener acting up in class?

So my son is about to turn six and he is acting up in school. He won't listen to the teacher while she talks. He refuses to do work most of the time. It's not that he doesn't know what he is doing because he is in the groups who read and write at the highest levels. I am wondering if it is too easy for him? One form of punishment at school is writing sentences. He will sit at the desk for as long as he can to avoid writing them. He also has been threatened to be held back. I have taken away his tv privileges and video game privileges. We have swatted his bottom for acting up. We have a monthly calender to show what color day he had (Green best, yellow okay, and red bad). We have told him that we can go buy a good toy if he can go the rest of the month without a red day. It hasn't worked yet. What other options do I have?

  • what would be a good party Idea?

My friend is having her birthday on Friday and we are trying to plan the party. We are having trouble of thinking how we should celebrate. We were thinking just a small party. Four to seven people and we are trying to think of Italian food for it. Not something typical but not something it is going to take 12 hours to cook either. We are all adults so anything really goes except explict stuff. We all have kids also. She is going to be 27 if it helps. Thanks!!

  • Was I too nice?

I had a friend who came out to stay with me while my husband is deployed. I let her come out with no money, stay at my house for free, and told her I expected her to look for a job and then I also asked her if she would mind watching my children while I went to school at night. She agreed and I also told her if it got to be overwhelming then to tell me so that I could fnd a sitter. I also gave her a cell phone to use to stay in contact with her family. I also told her she was free to leave at anytime as long as she could pay for it. Yesterday she called me and said she needed to go home. I was like okay when you get paid on Monday she could leave. She then got more upset and proceeded to throw her fit and made me feel guilty so I bought her a bus ticket home. Now I find out she has made up her mind to go home weeks ago and wasn't going to tell me. I feel like she used me for a free vacation and a free ride home. Was I too nice or giving to her?

  • What would you do if the doctor told you that they couldn't tell if you sprained or fractured your ankle?

I fell on Monday and either sprained my ankle or fractured my ankle. So, I was wondering what you would do since they said that they couldn't tell and all they did was give me an air-cast and crutches. I am asking would you go back and see if they could tell this time in x-rays since the swelling hasn't gone down at all even if it is elevated for the whole day except when I have to get up. I use my crutches every time so there is no weight on it at all. I ice it a few times a day and I have done everything they told me to do so I don't know if I should wait the week or go back today.

  • Macbook Pro help...?

I went to wake my computer up this morning and on my account the icons and displays show a x-ray type of color scheme. The pictures are in the x-ray style like in photo booth. I am wondering if anybody has any ideas on how to get it to go back to normal color? Thanks...

  • Help I am stuck with what to buy...?

My husband just deployed and I am trying to figure out what to get him that won't take up space. I already sent one box and it was mostly food and some pictures. But I am wondering what would you have enjoyed to get while stuck on a ship? I already buy him video games each month so nothing along those lines. He already has an Ipod and his command is giving them cameras. And his birthday is in January. That is when I want the box to arrive. I know how long it takes. And this is our first deployment.

What do you think about the FSG sending a bowling set (plastic) for the command to make a "bowling league"? They are on a carrier.

Any ideas for the FSG to send to them also? We are just trying to find some ways to aleaviate the stress being gone over the holidays.

They have the porn rules, he is a yoemen and works nights... no need for weight gloves he just runs. And he gets magazines each month.

  • What is a good gift for my husband who is in the Navy and deploying soon?

My husband and I are getting ready to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary. I need something I can give him, I don't need the idea about sex, video games, ipods, sexy outfits, or anything along those lines.

I need something that he can bring with him. I already have the picture frame I am going to load with pictures but that is for his deployment gift.

    I need a physical item
