What is a good gift for my husband who is in the Navy and deploying soon?

Small blanket for his rack-berthings get cold.

Something that he likes-so everytime he looks at it, he thinks of you.

It's not the big things, it's the small things that make a difference....besides we don't have that much room to store stuff.

Laptop, portable DVD player, picture of you and/or kids...if any.

Actually, it's the things that you receive while you're at sea that makes us know that you're there for us.

But for your anniversary...just make it memorable. Because memories like that, get us through a deployment. Hope this helps.

The military can be fairly strict as to what a soldier can carry around with him during deployment. He can't walk around with a pair of your panties in his pocket. You can get him an IPOD type of thing loaded with your favorite songs and pictures, something he can always look at when he has time. When I was in the army back in the 70's, 4 years overseas, I had a picture in my wallet and a hanky with her favorite perfume in my pocket. She only waited the first year, but we were not married, only engaged.

my bf craves certain food he cant get over there, like koolaid or eazy cheese and crackers. I sent him a bunch of food and candy. They often also want magazines, dvds, pics from home and shirts or pillowcases that smell like you. Get him some sexy pics of yourself, maybe things the kids made for him (if you have any) and stuff he can spend some time with (playstation games, books whatever he likes). You should try to send him things as often as possible. They just love to get mail and depends on where he will be, they might just get mail once a month. You should also try to communicate a lot. We talk nearly everyday and it has really helped the both of us to cope with the time being apart. Its definitely not easy. Good luck!

I agree with the camcorder idea. When your hubbie is gone, you will want to see him as much as possible. Seeing him in videos and stuff will make your week go by a lot smoother (especially his from being away from his family). When my hubbie was away , we had webcams and they helped out a lot for the both of us.

i was in for 9 years. the one thing that i really wanted but never had was a cam corder. that way you can both send each other movies. you can each take little movies of yourselves and send them. that would make both of you a little more at ease. as i said, i spent 9 years in there and i would say thats a great item.

some engraved item like a ring he can hang with his DOG tags.To help him feel closer to you while away.Maybe a charm that symbolizes your love?-Michelle
