What made you fall in love with your husband or wife?

Somebody asked if we had any nice questions. I figure remembering what it was that made you want to spend your life with your spouse (or partner) will help answer that question.

Normality! I was celibate for 5 yrs & entered back into dating by meeting a complete freak who had some serious problems. I was SO sick of the craziness, arguing, strange behavior, mental flipouts, etc. I broke it off with him & wanted NOTHING (once again) to do with men anymore. And then I met my fiance. He was the coolest guy ever. Our first date (I was reluctant) we went out & actually just talked & had normal conversation. He was polite to the waiters, he was kickback, he was fun to talk to, he had stories to tell, he was funny, he was witty & smart & it just felt like home to me. I was head over heels from the first night. I was inspired, I was intrigued, I was all full of goosebumps & I just knew. I couldn't get the smirk off my face for weeks.

When I realized he cared more about me than himself. Seriously, this deserves some thought. Most people go through life thinking only about themselves--it's just the world we live in. But when you really love someone, I mean REALLY love someone, what they need or want becomes more important to you. This is how my husband is and he never falters, he is such a blessing and now we have a little 4 month old son and I pray to God that he will be just like his father. So once I realized this about him, I absolutely fell head over heels for him.

A lot of things, I think. It was mainly how we could talk for literally hours on the phone and never get bored or run out of things to say. He has always had such a loving attitude toward me. Once, when we'd only been on 2 dates, he bought a pair of tweezers at a convenience store so he could pull splinters out of my hands. I think that's when I really started to love him. I'm learning things every day that make me love him even more.

LOL I asked a question because of that question too!

But to answer your question: It was a combination of so many different things. His willingness to put me first, the fact that he loves my kids, even though I had them before he came along, the fact that he respects me, the way we can disagree without being disrespectful to each other, the way we can talk for hours about nothing, the way he smiles, the way he looks at me...OMG should I continue?

First of all I was attracted to him, I am 5 ft 11 and he is 6ft 3, so I like that he was tall. He was so kind, and honest. He had alot of different types of friends, rich, poor, nerds, popular. I knew he was the one for me when on our way to a wedding it was raining and we passed a woman with kids changing a flat tire and he stopped and changed it for her and got his clothes all wet...I fell in love that day

Thanks atleast someone got what I was trying to say.

I fell in love with my wife in so many different ways here are just a few: The way she talked, laughed, smiled, danced, joked around like myself, her family was great, just being with her made me feel great, having so much in common made me feel like she was a part of me that was missing, I felt like we had known each other for years and just never met, I had feelings I never felt before when I met her, she was my first you know, I felt like I could trust her with anything, saying I love you to her felt like the most natural feeling I have ever had the first time and everyday since then.

I could go on and on but these are some of the reasons I fell in love with my wife and I'm still deeply in love with her coming up to our 9th anniversary.

God Bless and Thanks for making this day better for me anyways.

i didnt know anything about him, not his name, his age, anything, but i fell in love instantly and that had NEVER happened b4, but im glad it did, i would die for him and he would do the same for me, i cant imagine my life w/o him and dont really remember my life b4 him lol

I just know that we will be together until death do us part, and even then, death is not strong enough to break our bond, we will be together even in death

I fell in love with him because he always kept me just out of arms reach. Sounds weird, but I had to work like hell and when I finally caught him it was instantaneous. He completes me. I'm his spine, he is my straight jacket. There isn't anything we can't work through, and I really love being married to my best friend.
