I am looking for people willing to talk about weight loss surgery experiences?
I am about to undergo gastric bypass, and even after years of research I find myself all of a sudden feeling as though I know absolutely nothing now that the date is set. I am looking to talk to people who have had the surgery and gain some personal insight to the surgery and the aftermath. If anyone is willing to talk to me personally, or point me in the right direction of a helpful forum, that would be great! Thank you!

1 AnswerMen's Health1 decade agoLack of intimacy, anger, resentment?
My husband and I got married a year ago this week, and our sex life is nonexistent. We average MAYBE once a month. This time build up and complete lack of intimacy or affection has driven me to the point where I am in a constant miserable and angry state. I finally got him to consent to counseling and admit that there is an issue on his part, which he acknowledges. My problem is, I feel like I am at the point where it is almost not worth the effort because I feel like there is nothing there anymore. I sure as hell don't want to give up, but that feeling is overwhelming. I want nothing more than for him to be close to me, and to feel that he's genuine. What can I do in the meantime to make this transition go a little smoother and calm the little voices in my head?
10 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoOpinions on pacifiers?
I personally hate them for any children over 6 months old. They get dirty and are just unnessecary. In my opinion, pacifiers are for infants who need to be pacified, not older children who are basically trained to use them as a way of keeping them quiet. I take care of a 2 year old girl completely addicted to her paci and is very trained to use it. She keeps it in her mouth all day, takes it out and puts it back in when she is eating. Crazy! I told the parents I am no longer allowing it in my house. Call me cruel, but I am doing the kid a favor by teaching it to self sooth and talk properly and eat normally and not drool all over itself...
11 AnswersOther - Pregnancy & Parenting1 decade agoTapas ideas for Valentine's Day?
I am going to do a quiet little Valentines Day at home, and I need some ideas for simple at home tapas. Nothing too fancy, just some things that could be made into bite size things. Anyone have any suggestions? They can be made of anything really. Skill is not an issue. Thanks!!
5 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoDo you feel upset or unappreciated if your Husband doesn't remember Mother's Day or the likes?
Today is mothers day here in Norway, and my husband says 'why bother it's just another day, and another reason to buy chocolate and flowers. I can get you flowers any day, why is it so important now?' Mind you, holidays such as this and Valentine's Day aren't as celebrated as in the states (I am American), but to me that was a little hurtful because it's about appreciation, not flowers and chocolate. What do you think?

Other - Health1 decade agoWhat age did your child roll over, both ways?
A little girl I watch, age 12 months, is a turtle. You put her on her back and she lays there and screams until you sit her up. Same with her stomach. If I remember correctly my daughter did this well before 1 year old, and I am coming to the conclusion that this child is incredibly lazy, and a bit spoiled. What age did your kids roll front to back, back to front?

19 AnswersMen's Health1 decade agoHas anyone switched up their own name, or husbands name to make their baby's name?
For instance, for baby number two, hubby loves the name Seven. But I thought it would be neat to spell it Sevin, since my hubbys name is Svein. Just a switchup :) Has anyone else done this or come up with names like that?
14 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agoHas anyone here had success using an Instead Cup to get pregnant?
Or using the 'turkey baster' method? I'd like to hear some stories! I am going to start trying with the Instead Cups and would like to hear some good news :)
4 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoGreat place to have dinner in London?
My husband and I are going to London for our first anniversary, and I would like to have a nice dinner. We are staying in the Bays/Basewater area, but are wiling to travel. If you could give me some tips on some fun places to eat or a spot we just have to check out, that would be great. Thanks guys!
2 AnswersLondon1 decade agoAm I wrong for letting my husband handle his own battles with our daughter?
Every now and then, my husband will reprimand our daughter, and she won't listen to his most times. He tries to call in for backup, but I like to let him work it out himself and earn his own respect. I feel that if I wasn't present, I shouldn't be the one throwing out a punishment. How do you feel about this and handle these situations?
16 AnswersParenting1 decade agoHow to make seeds stick to breads and rolls when baking?
The key to success when it comes to baking with seeds is forever eluding me. I always end up with 90 percent of the seeds I added falling off. Are there any tricks to making them set on?
5 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoWhat to do with a back talking child?
Now, my daughter has always been very head strong. She is just about 6, and in the past month or so has developed a killer attitude. She back talks everything I say. For example 'I asked you to put your toys away, can you do it please` and she says...'Well I said I was going to do it later so I'm not doing it.' At this point I want to grab her by the ears and throw in the toy pile. 'You are not the boss, I'm the boss' is another favorite of hers. My question is, how can I handle this phase, or power struggle, rationally? I'm tired of always yelling at my daughter and I honestly feel bad about it all the time, I want to have a happy relationship with her. What has worked for you guys to keep the peace?
17 AnswersParenting1 decade agoIf your husband has issues...would you?
If your husband had issues ejaculating while having sex with you, but could do it himself, would you consider doing the 'turkey baster' method to get pregnant?
5 AnswersOther - Pregnancy & Parenting1 decade agoEmotionally Unattached Husband?
My husband and I have a great relationship, we are great friends and enjoy each other, but our marriage completely lacks intimacy and emotion. He shows no demonstration of intimacy in any setting. He has given me reasons, which I find mainly to be bullshit. The bottom line of it is that he lives for his excuses. Has anyone gone through and overcome something like this? Counseling in an obvious step, but I'd like to know what I can do to encourage him to be more loving towards me. I feel very empty, resentful, and unloved.

3 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoConsoling a baby with separation anxiety?
I have an 11 month old I take care of, and she has horrible separation anxiety. My daughter went through this, but I was never on the receiving end. I've tried everything I can possibly think of to calm this child, but she is a fighter and refuses to do anything but scream her head off. I don't want to call the mother out of work, as I absolutely hated being called out, but I also don't want to listen to constant screaming. Anyone have any suggestions?
