Tapas ideas for Valentine's Day?
I am going to do a quiet little Valentines Day at home, and I need some ideas for simple at home tapas. Nothing too fancy, just some things that could be made into bite size things. Anyone have any suggestions? They can be made of anything really. Skill is not an issue. Thanks!!

my personal fave- grilled asparagus tips with a little dollop of cream cheese in the middle and wrapped in prosciutto.
Peeled and halved pears with the middle hollowed out make a nice and pretty bowl to fill with a mixture of chopped walnuts, dried cranberries, and crumbled blue cheese. Just fill the holes, place everything in a big baking dish, drizzle all over with raspberry walnut vinaigrette and roast in the oven for about 20-25 min at 375.
You can't go wrong with a sliced toasted baguette served alongside some good extra virgin olive oil with herbs in it for dipping. Next to that have a couple selections of cheeses or meats to put on the bread.
tomatoes and fresh mozzarella and fresh basil drizzled with balsamic vinegar and olive oil is always good. You could do a lot with tomatoes- such as make a pretty plate with the decorated with capers, salt cured tuna, micro greens, drizzled in a vinaigrette.
Variety of olives with different stuffings (garlic cloves, blue cheese, anchovies, almonds, etc)
steamed mussels are delicious when cooked with lemon juice, lots of chopped garlic, fresh parsley, and some white wine.
cubed manchego cheese drizzled with olive oil and chopped fresh herbs.
small stuffed mushrooms.
mini ramekins filled with a seafood dip and baked, served with unique crackers.
fried squid is good for tapas, served with lemon wedges.
oysters Rockefeller
shot glasses filled with trifles or mousse, toasted bread with nutella or chocolate melted and spread on it.
I know this isnt a tapa, but fondue is fun and easy, and a great way to get things "heated up" if you know what I mean.
You could also do a small combination of cold cured meats, aged cheese, and olives for one.
Jamon ( a cured salty really good ham) with tiny toasted french bread slices for another.
Any type of fritter (shrimp, conch, corn, etc) with a selection of sauces (ranch, cajun, etc)
small stuffed tomatoes- get a few small vine ripe tomatoes and cut the tops off. hollow out with a spoon and fill with a mixture of chopped hard boiled eggs, fresh herbs, mayo, salt and pepper. Press firmly into tomatoes. drizzle olive oil over the top, wrap tightly with clear wrap, and chill for an hour. then slice into discs.

Well, I always like beans and rice on the side, even when I eat Tapas. You can make a little bit of them for a side dish, but I would combine them and make a dirty rice, where you have spanish rice, and add a can of black beans to the rice.
Spanish Rice and Black Beans:
1 cup of rice
1 small can of tomato sauce
1 onion diced
1 green bell pepper
1 Jalapeno pepper
2 cloves minced garlic
1 can of black beans
1 Tbsp Chili powder
1/2 Tbsp Cumin
salt/pepper
1 cup chicken broth
Oil (veggie or corn works good)
Cilantro
-- start by frying the onion and bell pepper in the oil and saute for about 2-3 minutes. Add the garlic and rice and cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the rice starts turning golden brown... NOT BURNED, so turn the heat down to a medium-high heat.
-- Next, add the seasonings, except the cilantro and stir to distribute, while you add the tomato sauce. Let it cook for another minute.
-- Then add the black beans, with the liquid included, and also add the chicken broth. It should be enough liquid. Cover the pan completely, with a lid and cook for another 15 minutes ON LOW heat. Do not peek.
-- When it's done, add some fresh, chopped cilantro and maybe some sour cream and serve it on a small platter.
For starters, maybe Ceviche? Or a Shrimp coctail.
For a main dish, you can do Jumbo Prawns, grilled with a tequila lime sauce, then make a couple different dipping sauces for them.
Empenadas are a good idea too.

How about some cute fairy cakes? strawberrys dipped in chocolate, or maybe even a fondue set??
for savoury, how about maybe some king prawns with a sweet chilli dip, smoked salmon and cream cheese blinis/mini bagels, mussels/oysters (bit of a seafood theme going on here...) a nice selection of cheeses, breaded mushrooms with a nice dip (garlic??? may not be very romantic though!!) some stuff olives maybe?
meat wise- maybe some meatballs in a spicy tomato sauce, fried potatoes (not meat i know, lol) chorizo in red wine, mini chicken wings etc etc.... hope you have a lovely evening whatever you choose!! :)

Let him come over, and fine candles on the floor with rose peddles leading to your bed room, and you wearing a very sexy teddy. A girl friend of mine did this to me. It was a wild night. I still love her deeply.
