remanned v6 motor started knocking around 1000 miles dont have warranty. How much is this going to cost to fix
I'm thinking about buying this toyota, but the rebuilt motor the guy put in it just started knocking. Just wondering how much this is going to cost before I make a counter offer.
I don't know if it is a rebuilt or not, but he's obviously put some money in it. He added a new engine because of all the other work he has put in. Check it out...
He said he put the new engine in, because he had already put all the other upgrades on the body, and didn't feel like taking it all off, and putting it on another truck...

1000 miles knock but no warranty something doesn't sound right there i'd walk away from it. there is good odds of many more issues. i'd say he probably threw in a junkyard engine and is just bsing saying it was a rebuilt engine.

its hard to say, it may be a rod knock. the rod main bearing caps may have loosened if not done right. but i would pull the oil pan before driving it to check where its comming from.

i wouldnt suggest buying it. cause that would be another rebuild, and rebuilds usually cost you 1,000-1,500 if your lucky. Or u could try to find another engine at the junkyard
