Sewrobb is quite correct. This is adware. Most of it, although very annoying is harmless, although some of it can be quite dangerous and load things on your computer that may be destructive or compromise your personal information.

Malware/Spyware/Adware are not viruses and thus should not be treated as such, although the gap between the definition between the two is narrowing. Originally, Viruses were programs that were capable of self-replicating and spreading from one computer to another without the hosts knowledge, while malware had to be transferred via some kind of physical source, ie external media device, email, etc. However, todays worms and trojans have changed all that. Know-a-days, a true definition of a virus should read....."any type of self-replicating malware".

Ok, all that being said, most versions of anti-virus softwares (paid versions), like Norton, McAfee, AVG all have anti-spyware searching capabilities. However, the free versions of anti-virus softwares such as, AVast, AVG Free do not. Check the specifics of your anti-virus to see if you do have a malware search and destroy. A typical free AV will not pick up a Trojan.

There are a lot of open source anti-spyware programs out there that are good, and there are a lot of them that are garbage. Here are four of the one's that I deem more reputable and do a good job.

    http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000...

    http://www.download.com/Microsoft-Windows-Defender...

You will need to download these, update the definition files, and then scan with them. Note, you will not need to scan with Spyware Blaster, just update definitions and enable all protection.

Also keep in mind that, like I said earlier, anti-Spyware is different than an AV. As a result you can have as many anti-spyware programs on your computer that you want. You can only have ONE anti-virus installed on your computer at any time.

Other things to make sure of.....

    - Make sure your spam protection in your web browser is turned on.

    - Delete your Cookies, Temporary Internet Files, and Cache.

    - Never open links within an email, instead type the URL directly into your browser. I know this is a PITA, but do not open a link within and email unless you are 100% sure that it is secure.

    - Use common sense when surfing the web. Stay off of sites that are known to spread adware. P2P sites are one of the most notorious, as well as Porn Sites, Gaming Sites, etc.

If you run these programs as well as scan with your AV, you should find this problem and be able to get rid of it.

There are some other options if this doesn't work, but I am pretty sure this will fix your problem.

Whatever you do, don't download the antimalware application. It's more than likely another virus. Download AVG Free antivirus (in source) to try and remove it, and if that doesn't work, seek the help of the people who run the HijackThis website (in source).

Don't worry! Just research thoroughly and it can be got ridden of.

Dont download it! Thats the virus, when you download it.

you need to go into control panel > Add/Remove programs > Then look for a program called "Zlob" then remove it.

If its not there, then run an anti virus check and that will sort it out for you.

If you use IE : Internet Properties > Advanced > click "Reset"

If you use Firefox : go to the safe mode in Firefox > select all the application > restart and make changes .

I have been hijacked before , and after I scan my computer with Ad-Aware 2007 , it founds 3 malware.

I hope reset these browser will help you :)

    If it doesn't , please download the Ad-Aware 2007

first look in internet properties, look at browser helpers ,if you find any with no program ,disable it

then shut down pc unplug net reboot in safe mode ,dosent mater if you dont find anything with your scans as i suspect this is needs internet to start.

now reboot normal still without net

let run for a few minutes, then shut down,

reconnect net reboot it should be gone ,then get some good protection.

It's Adware to get you to buy it! If you have a good reliable AV that stops Trojans it's all porkies! There are several freebies that stop this sort of thing. Mines included in my AV. (Which reminds me, mines up for renewal. Ta!)

download spyware doctor from google pack.

also does your internet security program have a security inspector? (i know Norton does) this will fit your problems too.
