When will Spring come to Newfoundland?
It's April 5th and there is still snow everywhere and tonight it is minus 5 c and the sea ice is packed in offshore and I am waiting to sail across the Atlantic.

March and April are notorious in Newfoundland. Usually the pack ice is gone by the end of April, but there can still be floating pans of ice around then, as well as ice bergs. Anyone who has lived in Newfoundland knows that it is not totally unusual to have snow on the May 24th weekend. Spring will come by mid-May, but you cannot count on 100% frost free nights until June. You should be able to set off on your Atlantic crossing in a month or so if you can handle the cold on the North Atlantic in early May. Best of luck.

The East Coast and Newfoundland got really walloped this year snow wise, I saw a news report about Labrador City were they have almost a total accumulation of 458 cm or 14 feet, the one fellow when asked said spring would likley come in mid July.
Lets hope it warm up quickly, we have lost all out snow here in Toronto and hope none returns, but with the weather patterns the snow should be gone by the end of May, keep your fingers crossed!!

I'm a little north of Toronto and the past few days have been nice (although yesterday was a bit cooler). Today was 13 degrees and lots of sunshine, tomorrrow is to be about the same and we are supposed to be around 10 degrees for most of next week with some rain. I know that Newfoundland tends to get our weather a few days later, I would say you should see some nice melting temperatures in the next week.
Good luck on your voyage across the Atlantic.

Spring in July, Fall in late August
I think the rest of Canada sends all it's lousy weather to the poor Newfoundlanders.

I think in about 2 weeks you should be fine, in other places of the country the weather is getting warmer
I always see New Foundland commercials on the tv and it looks beautiful, I with I could be there in 2 or 3 weeks to feel spring there
