Is Chevrolet Trailblazer 2007 a good buy?
I'm a little confused between Santa Fe (loaded) and Trailblazer (basic). The only thing that I don't like about Trailblazer is its cheap interior. How is the performance otherwise?
I'm based in Dubai, UAE. Anybody from UAE who owns the Trailblazer?

I would prefer the Santa Fe.
Better warranty, better ride, better mileage, comparable resale.

I've got a Trailblazer (LT) rental vehicle that I'm using on a mine site right now. It has the I-6 motor (4.2L) and 4wd. I drove 160mi highway to site, then it spent pretty much the rest of the tank never getting above 50mph; I got 18.5mpg and it currently has 2800 miles on it.
The ride is really nice. The seats are comfortable but I wish that they would slide back some more (6'2"). The suspension is soft, the rear is a little too soft in my opinion, and it seems to have a decent amount of suspension travel (I'm taking it across some pretty rough terrain).
The I-6 makes some decent low end torque, but if I was going to purchase one, I would get it with the 5.3L V8!!! And don't forget about the SS model with the 6.0L... The 6 does have enough grunt for passing on a two-lane, but I didn't get the 'holy crap this is fast' feeling.
I don't know if you can option one without the traction/stability control: it is a pain in the butt for me because I'm offroad most of the day. I start to spin a tire, and it activates the brake on that tire and detunes the motor. I would pull the fuse if there was an owner's manual... But if I throw it into a gravel corner it does a pretty good job of lining itself out with the stability control.
Honestly, I have thought about a purchase of one for my wife as replacement to her '05 Escape. One thing keeping me from doing it is we should get a car instead (We have been looking at an Audi A4, Suburu Outback and Legacy sedan with the turbocharged 4 cyl), the Trailblazer did kinda get my attention. It doesn't handle like the cars (duh) but I do like the extra ground clearence because we live in snow country.
I don't have an opinion on the Santa Fe...

i think of the Explorer seems greater valuable. additionally I even have often happening somebody who had complication with their Trailblazer. i don't understand plenty greater of that on the two vehicle, so i could circulate with the Ford if I had to %.
