Is 1st offender treatment considered a conviction in GA.?

My cousin is on probation for aggravated assault. She threatened her husband with a hammer when she caught him cheating. She took a plea deal under the first offender treatment. Is that considered a conviction as for as a background check is concerned?

Even if you get probation instead of prison time, it's still a felony conviction. Your cousin was just very fortunate to have gotten probation. Of course, if she commits ANY crime at all while on probation, they will get her for a probation violation and she WILL do some prison time.
