Overreaction for the Tigers has gotten old really fast, but still no love for the 5-1 Cardinals?

I'm not saying St. Louis is going to hang around in the Central all year, but think about this: Brad Thompson, Kyle Lohse, Braden Looper, and Wainwright are all pitching great. Eventually they are going to add Piniero, Carpenter, and Clement to that rotation. Everyone already knows that the offense can be pretty good with Duncan, Ankiel, Glaus, and Pujols.

I'm just saying if you are going to freak out over the Tigers, then why not give the Cards some early season lovin'? They are, after all, tied with Milwaulkee for the best record in baseball.

Update:

jcabler24-I'm not saying all of those guys I mention are #1s. Wainwright will be, eventually, maybe even this year, but they are certainly pitching much beter than I expected in the absence of Clement, Piniero, Carpenter, and Mulder.

I always have love for the Cardinals, even if they started 0-6, but they are looking real good so far. Starting pitching may not be able to keep this pace all year, but what team could? They are fielding a better offense than last year, and Shumaker and Ankiel are making defensive plays that would make Jimmy Edmonds proud. They should have good enough pitching for now and the run support to back it up, and when some of the injured starters come back to full strength, they will be a force to be reckoned with.

Well, a good team starting 5-1 is no surprise. A team with the offense billed as good as the Tigers were billed in the spring playing like the early days of the Devil Rays is not what people were expecting.

I honestly don't believe Thompson,Loopers,Lohse, and Wainwright are no. 1 guys that can pitch like this all year long. I believe IMO that either the Cubs or the Brewers(maybe both) will be ahead of them at seasons end.

Note-Only two teams have made the playoffs after staring off 0-6

Too early to tell.(after all the cards are usually 500 at the allstar break), but there's plenty of excitement in Cardinal Nation.........

I don't listen to any of the idiot sportscasters this early, except for Peter Gammons. Start to worry after the all star break.

I would like to see the Cardinals continue to win, Tigers on the other hand, wait, they haven't won yet. To continue to win, you must win first.
