If a persons heart becomes hard through suffering then wouldnt?

a loving, mercifull, compassionate God restore their heart and not abandon them

Ive read time and time again of God hardening someones heart,(whom, they say was already hard)

isnt the mercifull thing to do is to soften the persons heart

Hardening a heart is touching someone's will. God says he can't touch a person's will. So, which is it. Does he or doesn't he?

When Abraham was told he had to mark his body for God it was through circumcision. The part he circumcised showed that the nation, and ultimately, the Messiah would come from the physical man.

Today, when we hear the word, the gospel, our hearts are pricked and made soft in obeying. This, according to Paul, is our circumcision of the heart. In other words, the cutting away of hard flesh so that the heart is more sensitive to the needs of others and the commands of God.

When God hardened someones heart in the Old Testament, the heart he hardened was already hard and would not be for Him, any way. Remember, we have a choice and God will not make us choose Him.

Even when He blinded Saul of Tarsus, if Saul had chosen not to follow Christ, it would have been so. Many, in the New Testament, saw miracles but went away with out believing.

I would think it would depend on why the person's heart was hardened to begin with. If the individual had been repeatedly hurt and built up an emotional wall to protect themselves, then yes, I think God would do everything to heal and restore them. In fact, I imagine He would be the only One Who *could* break down the barriers and reach them.

But in the case of a person whose nature is evil, then hardening of their heart would be the result of their sinfulness -- not the cause of it. That person has deliberately chosen to pursue evil, delights in sinning, and slowly, but surely loses the ability to feel any remorse.

In that instance, God would probably let them go their own way, although it wouldn't be the choice He would have preferred for them. They become so calloused and indifferent that their hearts are hardened against the love, repentence, and redemption that He offers to them.

The only person I ever read about God hardening their heart was Pharoah when he wouldn't let God's people go there may be others just haven't read about them yet. And if you know the story then you know that God gave him many many chances to allow the people to go freely. Just the same way he does with his children whom he loves dearly. When someone is suffering there first reaction is to say "God why does this have to happen to me?" and eventually they get to the point of where they just don't want anything to do with God and thats where the hardening comes in. Because what you don't realize when your suffering is that God is standing right there beside you saying "here I am just take my hand and I will get you through this." But we can't take our minds off of whats going on long enough to hear what he has to say. So because we continue to refuse God's helping hand and refuse to listen to his Guidance our hearts become hardened. I hope this helps.

When a person suffers by abuses & also rebels against God, then they can't give their pain to the Lord. So this hardens their heart so they don't care anymore.

As a Christian, long suffering produces patience. To grow in faith, trusting God that He Is with us through the thick & thin. God has promised to never leave or forsake us.

But the hardening because one is abused isn't just because of being abused, but is also because the person didn't turn to God & believe God Is.

Some Christians put walls up because another Christian was judgmental & falsely accused them. But Jesus tells us to forgive them. To walk in forgiveness. To pray for them. And let Jesus take the hurt away. And let Jesus remove the walls. It is just trusting God. It is more important that God knows your honest heart than whether others believe something wrong of you or falsely accuse you. God knows your heart, if you don't harden your heart to God. If you trust Gods Word. Gods Word tells us that God loves us & will never leave or forsake us, who are His children.

eventual, What is your problem. Ask God for a woman. Blessed is a man who finds his woman (Proverbs). Be specific. Obviously God hasn't called you to be an eunuch. Just have a job & look for a Godly woman. Then ask her to marry you. Then love her like Christ loves the Church.

Like mine... I have been alone, and suffering for so long. I tried to pull close as i could to God, even fasting and praying often, but I just couldn't be perfect; my conscience always felt wounded, and I felt ashamed of myself all the time. The more I sought God, the more I lusted to have a woman. I have to say that i really don't seek anymore; although, I believe that He exists, because I am too weak for the challenge I guess, and I really want a woman. I don't have as much stress either. By the way, I sought for 6 years, intensely trying to walk with him, figure out my life, and "begging" for His direction, and to tell me where He wanted me.

Are you saying that God is not loving, merciful and compassionate?

The giving of His Son to redeem wicked and evil men would surely contradict that?

None have suffered as much as Jesus Christ yet His heart remains soft and tender to sinners.

Or are you saying that you are more loving, merciful and compassionate than God and know better than He?

Do you know the depths of the sin of your own heart, and how sin blinds the judgment?

Either way it is better to be humble and it is definitely not good to judge God.

God never hardens a persons heart the persons hardens the persons heart the person needs to believe in God and ask God to love him and not to turn his back on God or else God will not love the person as much as if the person loved God and if God does not love you it can make your heart hardened but if you do love God then God will unharden your heart if you ask Him to but you have to ask him you need to say jesus christ is my lord and savior please jesus unharden my heart and help me to learn how to love you because i don't feel close to You but i want to so please make my heart soft and not hard amen.

Heart condition s do not work that way. The heart can weaken do to suffering and stress. Prayer and any deity can't fix it. That's why we have medical science.

When my brown sugar becomes super hard and brittle I throw a piece of white bread in with it and that softens it up right away

    Try it
