What would a refurbished Sony Vaio laptop (from 1999 or 2000) go for?

    Almost nothing - unless there was some high end software on it. Basically people in China melt things like that for gold and platinum content - which isn't much either.

    Couple hundred, at most. You can pick up decent, new notebooks on sale for $350 pretty often, so something with a little age on it should go for considerably less.
