basically I'm a passionate art junkie with free time on my hands, that finds joy in the simple but still over complicates things constantly... I am a truth fighter equalist that can see eye to eye with anyone that leaves room for other points of view... oh & I tend to over explain myself too...
Suggestions for good graphic design schools on the Portland area?
I currently am finishing up an associates degree for Graphic Communications in the Midwest and I want to continue to get a Bachelors degree in Graphics design on the upper West Coast or Arizona... was wondering if anyone had some good suggestions for a school, not too expensive if possible, maybe tech again? Or I am open to University's also... any direction would be nice... not really wanting to transfer to the Arts Institute...
a million thanks in advance!!!!

2 AnswersLyrics1 decade agoWhat is Pysicians Mutual health insurance all about? ?
I am married and in my mid 20's, both me and my husband are in good health and are thinking of dropping our current health insurance to switch to this provider. My husband currently carries our insurance through his employer at a cost of roughly $400.00 monthly. I work for a small business that is looking into Physicians Mutual for a health care option for the few employee's that work here. I am told the month amount could be as low as $80.00 monthly, but has limited coverage.
Would you vouch for this source of health insurance for a younger married couple with no plans to have children?
thx!!!
1 AnswerOther - General Health Care1 decade agoWhen is pretension validated?
or should it always be considered a character flaw? what should be more prevalent in society, the admiration of humility or the validity of pretension?
thx to all
8 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agoHONESTLY do you value or dislike pretension or pretentious persons?
We all know the right answer is to say no... but really think about it, when you meet someone fitting this description do you show more respect because they seem to be "above" you, or do you feel a sense of semi-pity that could likely just be acknowledgment of what they really are.
just curious, and as always open-minded rants, opinions and feelings open...
12 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agoDo we all need to stop and smell the roses?
I was reading a highlight on my yahoo main page about world happiness and that is has risen in the past few years, partly due to women’s lib... do we all need to stop and realize that we are gaining in society and that all isn’t wrong in the world? I don’t know about you, but I have this looming feeling some days that we are headed in a downward spiral… I guess this has, for me, reinstalled some faith that things will be great if you let yourself see the great things!

7 AnswersGender Studies1 decade ago2 part q... 1) what constitutes an anti-feminist?
1) I don’t view myself as "anti-feminist" but others might, so this is why I ask can someone be indifferent or mildly oppose some feminist views without being seen as anti-feminist?
just as I am an Independent concerning politics... I don’t follow any party completely; I believe this helps to view the issues on a case to case basis and not be overly concerned with “party” views. I’m weary of singular views, there’s a flip side to all arguments... although I might not agree, I think it’s important to try and entertain them.
so let’s all hold hands around the camp fire and sing kumbiah…

10 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agowhat is your biggest character flaw?
please, no fluff answers like "I'm too nice"... true down and dirty character flaws.
Do you continuously work on changing these flaws? Can one change a flaw... or do you find a way to mold it into something positive?
Also, do you believe there to always be a flip side to a character flaw? For example; if you are bossy you in turn tend to be a good leader…
thoughts, rants, confessions... please and thx!
32 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agoWhat is a good area in Portland OR for a young married couple with no kids?
I have an education in graphic design and my husband works in the medical industry as a surgical technician... we are looking for a change and we both agree that Portland is a great city... what area would lend a good amount of culture and interest without breaking the bank... we are totally willing to sacrifice amenities and space for location... we would like to be downtown maybe… what is the area of downtown that would provide public transportation and maybe be close to a hospital?
thanks!

seriously though, it seems to me that most of us are working toward some sort of equality, thus making the bickering rather silly and maybe we should all just loosen up and jive... turkey!
14 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agoDo you feel that questioning your belief structure is healthy or detrimental to your "cause"?
please give examples...
I feel that it's healthy to question yourself... in the way of taking a step back and evaluating one's thoughts and feelings... just wondering what the group census is in GWS.

14 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agoExercise that doesn't involve much knee movement...?

5 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agodog help please!?
well Panda is a 6 months old mini Aussie Shepard. She's a complete doll but has HORRIBLE separation anxiety and she also runs off on us! The separation anxiety is marked by wining and barking if we leave her in a room by herself, let alone the very nice kennel we have on the back patio of our home. She also has "messes" when she is excited and she HATES her kennel at night. She will crawl under the bed and hide VS. going in her kennel for the night! It would be fine, but she isn’t house broke yet, and she would end up making a "mess" on the floor if left out over night. We went through pet training at Pet Smart and she passed just fine. Pet Smart trains using positive reinforcement, but it obviously didn’t work!
I think the main problem is that my mother lives with my hubby and me and she is at home all day with the dog. She doesn’t walk her, or train with her really. We exercise with her about 3-4 days a week... usually walks or biking. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
9 AnswersDogs1 decade agofluid in my knee... advice please!?
here's the long and short of it...
I have had constant fluid in my knee for some time now due to a fall. My ankle was severely sprained about 2 years ago, and while walking up a flight of stairs one day my ankle gave out, and I fell directly down on my knee... went to the doc, he said that I do have fluid, but not enough to worry about removing at that time. So, over time my knee swelling and fluid went down, and my ankle has healed slightly. I still had some fluid and discomfort in both my knee and ankle (both ankle and knee injuries to the same leg, they ache and are larger in size vs. my other leg).
So fast forward to a couple weeks ago… I was doing a little dancing at a friends house (not really out of the ordinary) and I woke up the next day and my knee is huge! Now, I was drinkin a tad… but not enough to not remember a fall / twist / pop or anything. So I iced & elevated it hoping the swelling would decrease, and it did, slightly.
1 AnswerInjuries1 decade agoFluid in my knee...(please read)?
I have had a small amount of fluid in my knee for about 2 years now. There isn’t much pain, just a little discomfort every now and then. This problem came about two years ago when my ankle was severely sprained, while walking up the stairs one day my ankle gave way and my knee came directly down on the edge of a wooden stair case. I saw a doctor about it, he confirmed the fluid, but didn’t feel it was necessary to drain quit yet... well, to cut to the chance, I was doing a little bit of dancing last weekend... and all of a sudden the next day my knee is huge! probably double the amount of fluid :( should I go in, do you think they will drain it this time?
thanks!
