2 part q... 1) what constitutes an anti-feminist?
1) I don’t view myself as "anti-feminist" but others might, so this is why I ask can someone be indifferent or mildly oppose some feminist views without being seen as anti-feminist?
just as I am an Independent concerning politics... I don’t follow any party completely; I believe this helps to view the issues on a case to case basis and not be overly concerned with “party” views. I’m weary of singular views, there’s a flip side to all arguments... although I might not agree, I think it’s important to try and entertain them.
so let’s all hold hands around the camp fire and sing kumbiah…
2) who is your favorite person to debate on GWS?

Mildly opposing some views seems to indicate that you agree with other views of feminism. Therefore it doesn't sound like you are anti-feminist at all. I think you can be a critic of something without being completely against it.
I think a real anti-feminist is someone who believes that there should be no feminism in this day and age either because A: They feel it has achieved all it needs to or B: Because they don't think there should have been feminism in the first place.

Even though I've had a leadership role in NOW in the past and agree with many of their ideas-I left the organization because over time I disagreed with some of their methods of achieving their goals in my local NOW group-and also with some of the methods the organization as a whole was using. I still support NOW but pick and choose what issues to work on and how I work on them. You can be a staunch feminist and still disagree with many things associated with feminism.
But I also am able to see all of the fantastic opportunities I've had during my life because of the work of not only first wave feminists (suffragists) but because of the sacrifices of second and third wave feminists. I know some of the second wave feminists went overboard-but I understand the frustrations they had been dealing with-it doesn't justify what some of them said or did-but they were an angry minority out of millions of feminists.
I actually like discussing over debating-which I already do with my feminist and non-feminist friends and co-workers-I don't need to do it on GWS. Plus if I mention anyone by name my answer will be reported and deleted-the two times I've mentioned someone's names in GWS-that's what happened-lol.

First off I'm going to answer the second question; it really doesn't matter. Being a true anti-feminist; knowing that equality exists; naturally and, or forced; I don't care about it one way or the other; the earth is going to spin on its axis whether I do or don't; even after I die.

1) I am an independant feminist; I probably do agree with the whole party idea and I don't like radicals. However I don't disagree with the radicals enough to consider myself anti-feminist. Anti-feminist to me screams a person regardless of sex who feels that women should have no rights.
I also don't conform to one specific political party but again I don't consider my self anti-political.
2) I don't have favorites.

Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell, lionized because the first US woman to change right into a physician (in 1849), wrote in her diary: The gross perversion and destruction of motherhood by utilising the abortionist crammed me with indignation, and wakened lively antagonism. That the honorable time period "woman wellbeing practitioner" should be completely utilized to those women those who carried in this magnificent commerce looked as if it would me a horror. It replaced into an utter degradation of what would and may change right into a noble position for women human beings. ------------ yet another professional existence feminist replaced into Victoria Woodhull, most suitable commonly used for being the first woman candidate.for US President (some time previous in 1870). Radical even by utilising early feminist criteria, she and her sister, Tennnessee Claflin, declared that youngsters had rights which began at idea. Their essay "The slaughter of the Innocents" first discusses the abominable lack of existence fee of youngsters lower than 5, then turns its sights on abortion: "we are conscious that many women human beings attempt to excuse themselves for buying abortions, upon the floor that it's not homicide. regardless of the indisputable fact that the very actuality of hotel to so weak a controversy purely exhibits the extra palpably that they completely comprehend the enormity of the crime. Is it no longer both destroying the would-be destiny oak, to weigh down the sprout earlier it pushes its head above the sod, because it truly is to cut go into reverse the sapling, or cut go into reverse the tree? Is it no longer both to smash existence, to weigh down it in its very germ, and to take it at the same time as the germ has advanced to any given element in its line of progression? enable those who can see any enormous difference with reference to the time at the same time as existence, once all started, is taken, console themselves that they are not murderers having been abortionists."

You so dont want me singing...camp fire or not....singing with untamed isn't a good idea!
1. by "definition" an anti feminist stands for the opposite of everything feminism did, stood for, and means. Being sexist is a must, dragging knuckles a bonus. You will see them both men a women, who believe that feminism should have ever started. That we should reverse it all and send women back home. "For the betterment of the world"
Officially not all who are give to title, fit it. but then I've been told that I'm not a feminist. titles/labels are subjective, and very dangerous for this reason.
2. givin up debating here on YA...got busted for "chatting" to much. use the chat room for debates. Doodle, AOA, Blah, and amazing even had a few good ones with cassius once apon a time(before he wernt all donkey on us)
where is part 1?

1. An anti-feminist is one who opposes attempts by feminists to create equal rights and opportunities for women. I've read some of your answers and you don't seem like an anti-feminist to me.
2. I don't spend much time here, but it's gotta be April...
"Any one with a brain can look at statistics"... yeah... like like how abortion decreases crime (See Levitt's book, Freakonomics.)
- Rio MadeiraLv 71 decade ago
Someone would be an anti-feminist if they were opposed to the most basic principles of feminism. Being opposed to certain people or initiatives is fine.
I like to debate April, just because it's so effortless.
- Anonymous1 decade ago
I think either you buy into the false claims of feminism or you don't. Any one with a brain can look at statistics and see how our country in so many areas went down the tubes when more people bought into the lie of feminism.
And debating is pointless here because a feminism will never admit there are flaws in feminism, even when its obvious... RIO!!
