Is there anyway I can program my PS3 to automatically start playing my music when I turn on the system?

No, as far as I know, there is no way to program your PS3 to automatically play your music when you turn it on.

You can enable Disk Autostart so that when you first put in a game disc, it automatically loads up without clicking on the disc icon, but you can't enable your PS3 to automatically start playing music when you turn it on.

You never know, maybe that feature will come in the future.

Could possibly be a feature but as for now it was never rumored,confirmed, or ever talked about in that matter... expect it in the next 2-5 updates

they make unique firmware for the psp to make the xmb look different etc.

I'm sure they do the same for the ps3, (note wait 4 an update that provides this function)

They might make an update like that in the future but as of now no.
